Went to Portland and did things other than talk about NAD+ and deadlifting.

Give @staceykroon coffee and cookies and she will go anywhere including @turnstileluvconnection concert. They are the best live show going right now - this doesn’t include @nineinchnails GOT live. taken in Portland, Maine by @thelando

Drinking too much (and not getting IVs at @vivolowellness after) is not ok.

Thankful @staceykroon and I can live a life each day where our son sees fitness and hard work as standard.

Not as thankful for the 100 hour work weeks, but at least they’re hours spent owning our own businesses and not slaving away in corporate America making a stable salary and getting healthcare and paid vacation days.

Just two dudes sitting totally normal getting our morning sunlight. If you struggle with sleep quality like I have in the past, try this out.

Getting direct sun within ~30-60 minutes of waking up is huge. Helps get your wake up and sleep hormones in check for the day. Cortisol (awake) elevates and melatonin (sleep) lowers, and they set to flip 12-14 hours later.

You don’t need masks or plunges that cost big 💰, you just need to sit in the (free) sun to get your body’s hormonal processes on schedule. It works even when cloudy, and more entertaining with your best dingus pal at your side. taken in Charlestown, Massachusetts by @thelando

You know what’s the worst? People posting their meal prep as encouragement for why you should do it too.

“All you need to do is take 2-3 hours in one day and it saves you time the rest of the week.”

This is true, and it’s the ideal scenario for eating the way you need to. But I don’t know about you, I can’t remember the last time I had 2-3 uninterrupted hours that I could spend on just cooking.

The fix: have a few go-to, super fast recipes you can bang out and eat in under 5 minutes (or under 10 minutes if you don’t eat like a Neanderthal like me).

This simple breakfast takes me 2 minutes to make, barely longer to eat, and gets me almost 20% of my daily protein in before 10am.

Why does getting enough protein in the morning matter?

🛌 Your body is in a catabolic state after sleeping, meaning you’re net negative in terms of building and repairing versus breaking down muscle tissue. Getting protein in early flips you back to positive.

🍰 Protein in the am kills cravings later in the day. Nothing worse than sitting at your desk at 11am realizing you already ate your snack and your lunch. Cue the multiple trips to the corner store, or raiding the pantry at home and eating all your kids’ snacks, and blowing your macros by 3pm.

🥩 Hitting your daily protein is actually attainable. One of the first things we hear when we tell clients how much protein they need is “how the f**k am I supposed to eat that much?” Getting 10-20% at breakfast makes the rest of the day more manageable than trying to cram it all in at night. It also helps with body composition by keeping your metabolism going rather than stuffing it at night when you won’t use the calories.

(Hot tip: have meals like this you can use for any meal, not just breakfast)

(Hot tip #2: stick it to the man by making meals like this that cost under $5.00 even with ingredients all coming from Whole Foods) taken in Monument Fitness Charlestown by @thelando

My daily supplement stack. I would recommend this to anyone regardless of lifestyle, goals, or whether you sleep on the floor of your toddlers room 4x a week. But, if you’re a guy over 35 with any sort of stress and responsibility, these are a must.

If it seems like a lot, it takes me <2 min to take all of it combined. I know you have 2 minutes.

* Thorne 2/Day multi: Covers the vitamin/mineral bases so I’m not trying to get everything from coffee and vibes (though vibes keep me going for sure).

* Omega-3 + CoQ10: Brain, heart, and recovery support. Basically makes me a genius.

* Liposomal NAD+: Supports cellular energy production and healthy aging pathways. Makes my weekly injections more powerful.

* Magnesium Bisglycinate: Helps with stress, recovery, muscle function. My @whoop sleep stats are absurd thanks a lot to this.

* Liposomal Glutathione: Major antioxidant support; helps manage oxidative stress. Triple dose after drinking (before bed).

* Liposomal Curcumin + Resveratrol: Inflammation support and additional antioxidant benefits. Also a post drinking must.

Oral supplements only go so far because of the whole digestion thing. Liposomal is better (shout out @rhonutrition). Injections/IV are best.

Little things, like 2 minutes a day to take your supps, can make a big difference. taken in Monument Fitness Charlestown by @thelando

This 15 minutes crushed me (as seen by this last minute here). EMOM 15, 10 squats w the 100# ball in a bear hug.

Sometimes the hardest thing is just starting. We own a gym and I still struggle with this more often than not.

The solution is keep it simple. Grab something heavy and squat, press, lift, carry it. Simpler the better, especially if you’re struggling to get going or coming out of time off from the gym.
