The University of Oregon’s Sports Product Management Masters Program and LaunchBreak hosted an engaging discussion about Pivoting into the Sports Product Management Industry. Our panel was moderated by LaunchBreaker Shana Sumers, a professional public speaker and pro football player. Last week our Co-founder, Philippa and Social Media Director, Taylor attended the LinkedIn Sports Industry Breakfast that brought together people who are thinking about the future of athletes, creators, and sports business leaders on LinkedIn.

We learned that athlete membership on LinkedIn has grown an impressive 31% since 2021 and that sports content drives 50% more engagement than other posts, making LinkedIn an ideal place for athletes to build their brands and tell their stories.

It’s evident that the conversations about sports, career transitions, entrepreneurship, leadership and life beyond sport can create true connections. We know this because we see it everyday inside LaunchBreak when our members connect on matters beyond the game.

Join us for LaunchBreak Connects!, a virtual networking event designed to help women athletes build meaningful professional relationships, expand their networks, and connect with leaders across a variety of industries.

This month’s breakout rooms include:

Foundations
Led by Sarah Kocmond, Chair of the USA Field Hockey Foundation, founder of WRAPPIT WRAPPIT, and former Brown University Division I field hockey player. Sarah is helping expand opportunities for athletes while supporting the growth of the sport leading into the 2028 Olympic Games.

Athletics Administration & Coaching
Led by Taryn Sheehan, Commissioner of NEICAAA, former Yale University Division I coach, and co-host of the Sideline Ascent podcast. Taryn has coached NCAA champions, Olympic Trials qualifiers, and national team athletes while mentoring coaches and guiding families through the recruiting process. Taryn is a former Division I collegiate runner.

Mental Health
Led by Betsy Brenner, author, recovery speaker, and peer support mentor. Through her memoir The Longest Match and her work leading support groups, Betsy inspires hope, resilience, and healing while advocating for eating disorder recovery and mental wellness. Betsy played Division I tennis.
