9/9- 392.5kg (+17.5kg)
At 67.8kg

Squat- 145kg (+5)
Bench- 82.5kg (+2.5)
Deadlift- 165kg (+5)
+17.5kg on my nats total

I'll start with negative Nancy but only briefly. I wanted to total 400kg and I feel we left enough kilos on the platform that we could have.

But! We COULD have, and given how shit my prep was and how unfocused I was, I achieved so much on Saturday.

I went with no cut required and nothing to prove. Just the goal of having fun and attempting PBd across the board.

Number one lesson, Tommy is never wrong! About attempts, at least.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head across the board. I wanted a blue on deads, so we played it safe and loaded 165. We debated 170, but that's for next time! Bench was top end and terrifying. Squats were right, considering we wanted to preserve for deads, and my depth hasn't been great this prep.

But bench- i PB'd!!!!!!! It's only been nearly 1.5 years since I've got a Bench PB!!!

Of course, all my thanks goes to Tommy for always showing up for me, whether that is through WhatsApp, at the gym when im home, or at comps. I wouldn't be doing this without you! Keep doing what you're doing cause it's working!

And I had the best crowd with me 😂

Also, it was so lovely to see some people i dont see outside of PL/haven't in a while ❤️

On to the next!

British Nationals 2024 🇬🇧

I couldn't really have asked for more!
9/9 attempts
27/27 white lights ⚪️⚪️⚪️
2 comp PBs
1 ATPB
And only 5kg under my best and over BW with a dodgy shoulder on bench
Lowest BW I've had in the U69 class at 67.9kg with the east stressful cut I've ever had!

I had so much fun last Friday - the most fun I've ever had at a comp to date. I'm still smiling! I really cannot tell you how happy this whole day made me! It was perfect - the lifts, the people, the place. Everything!

Squat- 125/132.5/140 (+5kg ATPB, +7.5kg comp PB)- 2.06x BW!!!!
Bench - 65/70/75
Deadlift - 142.5/152.5/160 (+2.5kg comp PB) FIANLLLLYYY!!! 3rsd time lucky!
Total- 375kg (+10kg)

We were braver with jumps, confident in my tech, and so clear on the goal. It was just a matter of execution and that we did.

Convy made its debut, too, and it looks like it's here to stay 🫡

I smiled all day and will do for a long time to come. I'm back, and powerlifting is back in my life for all the right reasons this time 🙏

And I couldn't have done it all without Tommy. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for being the most awesome coach and friend to me. I've known you over two years now, and you've been my coach for a quarter of that - and for that, I'm am so grateful 🤎

Thank you to team fix Gemma @_vinify and @aceydc - still a long way to go with the shoulders, but I problem would have broken without you both 😂😭

The team at @paradigm_gym - thank you for all the spots and support 🙏

And i probably should acknowledge this will be my last comp as a jnr 😢 and of course I had to make it an open 😂

On to a looong off season to build, grow, finish 4th yr and rotations and fix the dam shoulders!

In light of the recent hate and misunderstanding surrounding veterinary costs (elicited by certain media profiles who shan't be named), i thought i would give my take on the situation.

I have been shouted at, complained at and blamed for the cost of treatment more times than i can count... and ive only been working 6 weeks!!

Unfortunately, owning a pet is a luxury that costs money. And humans having the NHS makes us loose sight of how much things costs in medicine.

Trust me, the human equivalent of many treatments we provide would be much much more!

If I could do it for free I would...

I would really appreciate your help to spread this to help people gain understanding and be a little more patient with us 🫶

Bit different for my week 5 round up!!

Ops monday and cons friday were relatively uneventful. First cat dental and did a mice smooth cat spay.
But!

My company runs a dental training course every yeat with their new grads and it was my turn on Thursday!

I learnt so much and feel so much better about dentals now
