Western Moto Trip 2026 - when nothing went according to plan. • Here’s a few photos from our first night camping at Grand Canyon - which I will never forget. The day started out VERY HOT as we picked up our bikes in Scottsdale, and proceeded to ride up in elevation towards Sedona and Grand Canyon. Sean was having some issues with the elevation changes, as was my BMW’s tire pressure system, which delayed our arrival to GC (had to slow down and kept needing to stop to make sure my tire pressure was in range). I’ll never forget that last hour stretch of riding where the sky was black behind us and I could see a storm was chasing us. And looking ahead toward the canyon, I could see lightning - more storms. We luckily managed to coast into the campground between the storms and rushed over to see what was left of the setting sun, but as you can see in the photo/video, there was a massive storm across from Mather Point, which is where Bright Angle Canyon is. And the desert Bighorn Sheep, just standing at the top of a cliff by the point just hanging out. Probably my favorite photo from this trip.
• During this trip, I learned that itineraries are great, but changing them is inevitable. •
We had no idea there was an issue with flash flooding in GC until I woke up to texts the following morning asking if we were OK. There had been a bad storm during the night while we were camping and our tent got wet, but we were warm and safe at 7,000 feet elevation. •
After that, we spent the next two days riding away from monsoon storms and cancelling our camping trip to Zion because the monsoons were hitting hard there too. The pivot brought us to a welcome night in Marble Canyon, which was delightful. • • • • • #motocamping #grandcanyon #motorcycletravel #bmwr1200gs #sherides Our first Stop in Sedona to hydrate and acclimate to elevation, which was making Sean dizzy and giving me a headache. Leaving the alpine forests and seeing there was a storm coming on our last leg to Grand Canyon. Enjoying the sky after Sunset at Mather Point. The storm over Bright Angel Canyon in the distance. The mountain goat just watching us. The desert Bighorn Sheep, storm and canyon. Sett by @thelindsaycomer
Apparently, riding into Death Valley comes with air support 🙃 × Felt appropriate to be wearing our Crossfield Boots. Thought @stevelauria would appreciate this. × × × #deathvalleynationalpark #militaryjet #motorcycletravel #indieridge #motorcyclegear by @thelindsaycomer
This is why I should not do bike reviews. Or maybe why I should 😂 • For the record: the CRF450RL is one-left-toe-down kinda tall 🙃 I had a blast on it though. Such a fun bike! • Would you watch more of my highly technical bike reviews? 🙃 No promises, just curious 😁 • Also, @honda_powersports_us had the best demo route @dirtdaze. Not many brands would include a little off-road section on the route, and it was brilliant! Really gave you a feel for how the bikes would perform! • • • • • #sherides #ridelikeagirl #dirtbikelife #hondacrf450 #dualsportlife by @thelindsaycomer
When your kickstart bike won’t start... • My XR200R has been a little stubborn lately. It’ll start and run great, but every now and then after I shut it off, it refuses to start back up. I haven’t had time to properly dig into it yet— • Luckily, a pop start usually gets me out of a sticky situation. • Have you ever had to pop start a motorcycle? • • • • #hondaxr #vintagemotorcycle #dirtbikelife #ridelikeagirl #kickstart by @thelindsaycomer

Went back to the city for the first time in years the other day - haven’t been back since we moved to Vermont and I enjoyed my first time riding a motorcycle there thanks to @santana_rides allowing me to ride his Scrambler 😁 • I was there to take photos for work, but appreciate Germán snapping a few of me on his beautiful Triumph Scrambler while we were out, which was a blast to ride! Also, the second to last photo was his vision for my helmet and the arrows and I absolutely love it! Thank you for these @santana_rides ☺️ • While I still prefer my rural backroads, I had an absolute blast riding in Brooklyn and experienced my first lane filtering ride in traffic there - something I don’t have an opportunity to try here in Vermont. • I also did two demo rides @triumphbrklyn - because why not? (stay tuned for those) I must say - I enjoy riding in the city A LOT! Being on a bike is where it’s at 😁 • Helmet by @people_of_hedon @hedonworkshop Moto boots & gloves by @indieridge • • #brooklynnewyork #triumphscrambler #sherides #motorcyclegirl #motorcyclephotography by @thelindsaycomer
