POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In 1997, Human Rights Watch documented basketball hoops mounted sixteen feet high in two supermax prison facilities. A regulation hoop stands at ten.

Six extra feet between a person and a small satisfaction.

Sometimes a detail in a prison report reads like a description of a sculpture. I am accumulating a ball for each years I spent behind bars hoping to get the life I have now.

The paintings above this installation is somehow influenced by Cy Twombly’s work and the relation with distance, animation, film and perspectives.

After receiving many requests, and because I wanted to make some of my original works accessible to a larger community of collectors, art lovers, artist patrons, and anyone who simply wants to own an original drawing, I have 100 works on paper available for $250 each + shipping.

This is also an opportunity for collectors who already have a larger collection and want to add an original work on paper to it or simply for those who have been waiting for an accessible entry point into my work.

With a simple DM, I can send you the updated catalog of available drawings.

A huge thank you to all the collectors who have been collecting my work over the years, and to everyone who has sent me so many beautiful messages about what my work means to you. I truly appreciate it.

Works on paper are sometimes overlooked in comparison to painting or sculpture, but they have always held a very special place in art and in my own practice. Some of my favorite works are drawings.

Artists like Picasso and Philip Guston understood the incredible freedom, and immediacy of working on paper. I also think a drawing can bring something very special to a collection, it complements paintings and sculpture, changes the rhythm, the groove of a room, and gives you a cool connection to the artist’s hand.

Honestly, it’s just cool to have an original drawing.

Get one before they’re gone.

2025 Center Fellow Little Walt Dog (L.W.D.) is in "Playing," a group exhibition at @V1Gallery in Copenhagen curated by Marcus Jahmal, and it closes soon on September 26.

The show takes its cue from Philip Guston's idea that "this serious play, which we call art, can't be static," and brings together sixteen artists who continuously reinvent their practice. It draws on the principles of the CoBrA movement: spontaneity, intuition, primal gesture, folk traditions, art brut and a resistance to fixed stylistic identity. The painters in it treat the studio as an experimental space where instinct and imagination hold equal weight to intellectual consideration, and where color, gesture and mark-making become tools of discovery.

"Playing" is on view through September 26 at V1 Gallery, Slagtehusgade 44D, Copenhagen. More at the link in bio.

LWD - You and the night and the music - Oil on Canvas 48 x 54 Inches - 2026

You and the Night and the Music feels like New York to me. The lights, the streets, moving through the city at night.
During my first solo show at Silke Lindner Gallery @silkelindner.nyc , I spent time walking downtown and going to Lucien Restaurant @lucienz . Chet Baker was often in my head.
This series came from that trip — the night, the music, and what stays with you after.

LWD — Where the Lost Souls Go - 2026
Oil on Canvas — 16 × 20 inches

Los Angeles after dark has always felt less like a city than a movement through light.

Headlights crossing an intersection. Windows floating above an empty street. A building appearing for a second and disappearing again in the rear-view mirror. The paintings come from that unstable geography somewhere between memory and observation, where architecture begins to lose its edges.

There is something of John Fante’s “Ask the Dust” in it: the Los Angeles of Bunker Hill, loneliness, ambition and people arriving somewhere without quite knowing what they are looking for. And perhaps something of George Ault’s nocturnes too light not illuminating the world so much as isolating fragments of it.

Downtown, the Eastern Columbia Building still rises above Broadway in turquoise terra-cotta and neon, designed by Claud Beelman in 1930. At night it becomes almost unreal. The architecture transformed into a signal. A friend of mine lives in it. I go there sometime.

Maybe that is Los Angeles. You rarely possess the city as a whole. You catch it moving , through a windshield, beneath a streetlight, in the few illuminated windows of a building you will never enter.

And somewhere between those lights is where the lost souls go.

DM for inquiries.

My favorite radio station has always been NPR or any public radio station, really. I like the fact that you can stumble across classical music, Delta blues, jazz, hip-hop, an interview with a scientist, and then the news, all within the same hour. The news you hear there is sometimes different from what you see on television, and I enjoy having both perspectives before deciding what feels closest to the truth.

Long before television became the center of everything, radio was how people followed the biggest sporting events. Families and strangers gathered around a speaker, imagining every punch, every cheer, every moment through a voice. I’ve always loved that idea—that sound could create images more powerful than images themselves.

When I painted this work, I kept thinking about a smoky underground boxing match somewhere in America in the late 1960s. Not the glamorous championship everyone remembers, but the kind of fight unfolding in a small hall, broadcast over crackling airwaves to people listening from diners, garages, parked cars, and quiet living rooms. The painting isn’t really about boxing. It’s about anticipation, imagination, and the strange poetry of hearing something before you ever see it.
