Ain’t nobody else I’d wanna spend forever with in this vast galactic pond. It’s been a hot minute since I posted anything, but I reckon I’ve just been living life and savoring the sweet moments with pookie amidst the chaos of college and assorted happenings. So here’s some of my favorite shots of my other half of my soul from earlier this year, in particular from our Valentine’s Day visit to a place I ain’t been to since I was a kid, the Morikami Museum with some cherry frogs and Tomodachi silliness. by @theloonfromthemoon

One last batch of moments from this year, from winning the Audience Award at Florida Supercon for Gator Bites (appropriately dressed as Wario), to various shots of hangs with my beloved peeps and the love of my life Cherry. And pinball and frogs. And the cat who chose me as its friend at the efficiency I moved into and Donkey Slambo Bananzo which saved my brain from madness in the summer.

This year had a lot of highs and a few challenges that had me feeling like DK going down the abyss with Pauline wondering what’s next - But you can only just jump in and go through down to the very core and trust the process. Started my next year at FIU getting into the nitty gritty of 3D art, slowly getting better, and ultimately, I’m glad to be alive and experiencing the thrill of this ride of life and I’m thankful for all you folks there by my side.

The big Capstone Showcase at MDC Wolfson earlier this year, with all the wonderful peeps that helped make “Gator Bites” go from being just a scribbly storyboard to a reality (with some shots of the awesome Kush Hialeah restaurant that inspired the short - Me and Cherry just so happened to go there right on the penultimate day that it sadly closed).

I’d always wanted to create my own cartoons and video games since I was a kid - Seeing one of my ideas finally come to fruition and playing on a big screen with a crowd genuinely laughing and enjoying it, no joke, had me choking up in tears. It confirmed that it really doesn’t matter how old you are, you gotta go after those passions of yours or the possibility of what could have been will eat you alive inside. I’ve still got a ways to go with other projects I want to see come to life, and have a lot to learn as a 3D artist and as a leader - But ya boy is learning the ropes.

I can’t thank all the folks on the team who genuinely believed in the project enough - Being thrust into the role of a leader on a 3D short challenged me in ways I didn’t expect, but I’m immensely grateful for all you younglings who showed passion and drive to push yourselves until god knows what time every night, and learn new aspects of animation that weren’t even being taught to us in those classes for the sake of making this goofy short about a large Cuban man and his puppy fighting a mutant toxic gator. I love you guys (even Gabe I guess) - I’m hoping to create more weirdness with you guys. (We just need programmers…)

Big shoutouts to all the staff at MDC Magic who supported my short since day 1, the wonderful peeps who came out to the showcase to show love, Miami for inspiring the short with all its madness, and cafecito for powering me through those nights where I’d stay up until like 4 am assembling everything like Frankenstein’s creature and putting all those sound effects in the exact spot they needed to be.

Part two of Universal shenanigans from back in May with my pookie @theriverastyx, the day before we paid Epic a visit. It doesn’t matter if we’ve been there a million times - Screaming our lungs out as we hulk out on the Hulk coaster, getting shot out into a loop on Velocicoaster, and laughing as our cart collides into Homer outrunning a wrecking ball, none of it ever gets old, especially when ya got the love of your life along for the ride.

This time though we figured we’d indulge in exploring the areas we usually skip over in our rush to get to the rides and get a lil’ silly with it. We got to meet Rogue (and I told her Juggernaut is my favorite X-Men character which probably put me on her shit list), almost got our heads bitten off by a REAL LIFE VELOCIRAPTOR, and Spider-Man gave me advice on not letting the symbiote completely take over my brain (I’ve gotten better about that these days). Also those macarons at that chocolate emporium across the lake are freakin’ mondo FUEGS

It’s been a while since I posted the Adventures of Frogman and Bunny on here - I reckon this year has just been pretty hectic and it slips my mind. But as cheesy as it sounds, all the holiday spirit has me looking through photos and wantin’ to show gratitude for the big and small moments this year with my loved ones… Starting with a trip to Epic Universe with @theriverastyx back in May that I still replay in my head almost daily.

You can tell every bit of the park was designed with love and reverence for the source material - Darkmoor is a gothic horror fan’s wet dream, Nintendo World (and specifically MONKE ISLAND MINECART MADNESS) had me legit burst into tears (I wanted a Donkey Kong roller coaster literally since I was a kid playing DKC2). Celestial Park is a genuinely awe inducing original idea and Stardust Crusa- I mean STARDUST RACERS is genuinely one of the best damn coasters you will ride in your life. The How To Train Your Dragon area is also insanely well crafted.

I also got to compliment the Creature on his boots and ended up making friends with the big lug. Also their PIZZA from the moon SMACKS - Also shoutout to the one guy working at pizza moon who recognized my Warioware jacket, WAHAHAH!

I’M-A NUMBER ONE!!!⁣⁣⁣⁣

To some folks it might just be a piece of paper but to me, it’s my triumph over my past self doubts about my self worth and capabilities, endlessly making compromises about what to do with my life until I said to hell with it, I wanna do right by my childhood dream of being an animator, and made that jump to join the MAGIC program at MDC to do exactly that.⁣⁣⁣⁣

Two years later I ended up directing my own short that started as a silly idea me and @theriverastyx were spitballing in the Dolphin Mall parking lot for a story boarding assignment, and snowballed into a chaotic love letter for the 305, “Gator Bites” - Which ended up being picked by Televisa Univision as part of the program’s yearly capstone animations. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Learned a ton about 3D modeling, rigging, character animation but more importantly, I was absolutely tested in my willpower and patience and learned how to be a leader with conviction and a clear vision, as well as how to be humble and open minded when it comes to working with a team. You can’t do it all alone, and I’m insanely grateful to have met a bunch of bright and passionate whippersnappers who all brought their own skills to the table to help realize the vision. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

Above all that stuff, I’m glad I met a bunch of super dope creative peeps who are all equally as fried in the brain as me. I hope we stick together for a long time ya’ll.⁣⁣⁣⁣

I’m gonna continue my studies no matter what and realize more of my passions and projects. No matter what I’m always gonna fulfill these creative endeavors the same way I have done everything else - Like ya need to BLEED FOR IT BABY!!! taken in Miami, Florida by @theloonfromthemoon

Just a couple of pinheads at the badass @satellitepinballlounge a few months ago, with my pinball pookie @theriverastyx. As soon as I heard there was a new pure pinball joint up in Ft. Laudy I knew I had to go take a look. The rock and roll retro arcade vibes absolutely had my name written all over it, with the pizza they got there being so damn good it may as well have come from outer space. Shoutouts to that one older gal we had a convo with where we traded stories about the crazy concerts we been to. ⁣

Definitely recommend y’all go peep it, have a slice, throw down some tokens and have a good time. I guess you could even say you’ll have a ball… A pinball… A MULTIBALL OF MADNESS DOHOHO THAT SLAPS ME ON THE KNEE⁣

I felt like in order for me to really make my 3D animated short “Gator Bites” as authentic as possible, I had to go and grab the gator by the jaw and immerse myself in the swampy lands that it takes place in. ⁣⁣

Coming here, you really come to appreciate the beauty of these scaly beasts alongside the other critters you’ll run into there - We gotta do better in respecting our nature until it decides to bite back you dig?⁣⁣
