The Lunar Effect’s highly sought after debut album reissued in May via Svart Records

⚫️ The Lunar Effect, sonic architects known for their gravitational pull of fuzzy, snarling riffs and psychedelic visions, are proud to bring their critically acclaimed debut album Calm Before the Calm back to the market in May via Svart Records.

Formed in 2016, The Lunar Effect burst onto the scene with their distinctive blend of heavy grunge and retro rock. The London-based quartet quickly garnered attention for their dynamic sound and heavy psychedelic rock reverence. In 2019, the band crash-landed onto the Stoner scene with their debut album, Calm Before the Calm. The eight-track album was critically acclaimed, receiving glowing views from across the globe. In the years that followed since its release, the album has gained several million streams on multiple platforms worldwide. Now, on its six-year anniversary, it is only fitting that a special edition be released. Featuring alternative album artwork and a special bonus track (a live cover of Free’s Be My Friend), this is the second chance to own the band’s debut masterpiece that you’ve all been asking for.

When asked about the re-release, The Lunar Effect said:

“We are incredibly proud of our first record. To see it take-off and grow so organically without any management or PR was mind-blowing. We are constantly asked when it is going to be re-released, so to have the chance to do so with Svart to an even bigger audience this time around is very exciting for us.”

Calm Before the Calm is available on Svart exclusive purple/white marble vinyl, limited transparent magenta vinyl, black vinyl, and CD. Release date May 9th, 2025.

STOOMFEST 2026 — DAY ONE

This is where it all started.

Day One of Stoomfest 2026 brought the Home of Heavy Music back to life. Heavy riffs, packed rooms, familiar faces, new friends and that feeling we spend the whole year waiting for.

Huge love to every band who stepped onto the stage and everyone who came through the doors and made the first night what it was.

ORBITER · THE LUNAR EFFECT · FROGLORD · KAISER · MOUNT HUSH

One night down. An entire weekend still ahead.

Welcome back to the Home of Heavy Music.

Stoomfest 2026. London.

Just over a week since we had the best time at your @stoomfest. Thanks to everyone who was there for our set, bought merch, sang along to our songs and made it a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a Friday evening. Special thanks to everyone at Stoomfest who makes the whole thing happen and to @gabparris for the videos from which these stills are taken #thelunareffect #calmbeforethecalm #stonework #wehadthebesttime by @thelunareffect

What a weekend. What a family. What a feeling.

To every musician who stepped onto our stages, and every Stoomer who walked through the doors and trusted in what we are building: thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Stoomfest has never been an easy road. It takes an incredible amount of work, sacrifice, stress and belief to keep pushing this forward. But then the weekend arrives. We all step inside the Home of Heavy Music, the amps turn on, the rooms fill up, strangers become friends, and suddenly everything makes sense again.

That feeling is the spark that keeps us going.
Year after year, we see this family growing.

More familiar faces, more new ones, more bands becoming part of the story, and more people believing that something special can exist when it is built around music, community and a genuine love for the underground.

We are creating something special here. And none of it exists without you.

Thank you for your trust.

Thank you for your energy.

Thank you for your heart.

Thank you for making Stoomfest feel like home.

The Home of Heavy Music keeps growing.

See you in 2027. ❤️
