Florida returns undoubtedly the best trio in all of college basketball for next season, all of whom were featured on the Gators’ 2025 National Championship team. However, entering the 2026-27 season, these three have far bigger roles than they did then.

With Thomas Haugh being regarded as the nation’s top wing, Alex Condon as one of the best two-way forwards in the country, and Rueben Chinyelu having a case as the best defender, these three have the talent to get it done. But will they…?

Florida has great pieces alongside them, but if they want to cut the nets in 2027, it’ll be because these three stepped up. Drop a comment down below on how you think the Gators’ season will pan out ⬇️

With the Division 1 level having a bit of a log jam due to the extended eligibility rules the result of this in my opinion is many players ending up at the JUCO level even though they’re talented enough to play at a high level. I wanted to illustrate some of the players that personally caught my attention as I believe that many of them can easily translate to a systematic role within a higher level program. The underdog story will forever be one that many people find themselves rooting for and I think these players easily could have a coaching staff intrigued with their said skill set.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find film for Tyler Robinson but I think he might be one of my personal favorites from this list. The forward averaged 12.3 pts/ 7.4 reb/ on 59.8% 46.7 3pt% splits as a freshman at Schoolcraft.

Santonio Waide

The Point Guard will be replacing star guard Trent Lincoln at Gulf Coast State under a new coaching staff and I believe that Waide could shine there as a Freshman. He’s a former 3 star guard that played half of a season with the OTE program as a senior and averaged 15.8 PPG/ 6.2 APG/ 45.5 3PT% against some of the best high school talent in the nation.

Jackson Byam

The left handed Point Guard has shown the ability to manipulate the defense with his change of pace while also being a scrappy defender on the other side of the floor. Byam averaged 18.6 PPG/ 4.6 APG as a Senior in high school last year and will do a majority of his work from behind the arc in a variety of ways.

Marcus Gillespie

The 6’5 scoring guard is a former 3 star that decided ultimately not to play for Omaha this season and instead will be playing for a loaded South Plains team for his Freshman season. Gillespie also spent time with the OTE program and during his 2 seasons there he averaged 7.7 PPG and shot 38.9% from 3.

Carlsheon Young

A talented left handed combo guard that is very comfortable creating for himself as well as being a scrappy defender that picks up full court on the other side of the floor. Young is transferring from Pacific and joining South Plains as he’ll look to quickly return to the Division 1 level.

The transfer portal saw some of the nation’s top stars switch teams, like Milan Momcilovic heading to Kentucky and Tounde Yessoufou head to Rick Pitino at St. John’s.

However, there was also a handful of moves that went under the radar, and ones we expect to get the love they deserve with due time.

Let us know who should’ve made the list as well, and which of these guys you have your eye on for next season…

The season is just around the corner, so it’s time we release our “My Guys” for the 2026-27 college basketball season.

Are these the players we think will be the absolute best in the country? Not necessarily. But whether it’s a new situation or another year of improvement, these are seven players we will be keying in on for the upcoming season.

Guys like Stefan Vaaks and Pryce Sandfort could very well become National Player of the Year candidates, while players like Aiden Sherrell and Dame Sarr could make major impacts on both ends of the floor.

Drop down below who your guys are for next season ⬇️

The Big 12 Preseason POTY belongs to Motiejus Krivas, a player many believe will finish the season as the best big man in the country. A defensive anchor for the Arizona Wildcats, Krivas will be expected to become more of a focal point for Tommy Lloyd’s offense heading into his final season.

At The Madness Feed, we project him to jump up to 15.1 PPG, along with an increase in rebounds to 10.3.

There’s a lot of talent in the Big 12, but do you see Krivas taking home the award by season’s end?

Moving on we have the ACC, who released their preseason polls and voting this week as well, with most of the results being as expected.

The buzz seems real among members of the media with Duke freshman Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, as he will begin his first of a minimum two year college stint.

However, there was also some questionable results from the media, so let us know if you agree with our thoughts down below, and share yours too ⬇️

The SEC Preseason Polls and Teams released earlier today, and most of what was released was expected. From Thomas Haugh being voted Preseason SEC Player of the Year to South Carolina expected to finish near the bottom of the conference, those weren’t surprises to the fans.

However, we wanted to highlight what we liked and didn’t like from today’s release.

Drop your thoughts below on what you liked and didn’t like as well ⬇️

The Vanderbilt Commodores have produced some quality NBA talent over the years, including Darius Garland, Scotty Pippen Jr., and Aaron Nesmith. However, none have shown the ability to look like a National Player of the Year candidate. Now, they have just that in Tyler Tanner.

Tanner tested draft waters after a massive sophomore season, and now returns for a junior campaign where he’s viewed as one of the best players in the country. However, he might not be getting enough respect.

Where does Tanner rank on your NPOY chances?

The UConn Huskies have been on a tremendous four year run in college basketball, and Dan Hurley will look to extend that into next season with the help of star guard Silas Demary Jr., one of The Madness Feed’s National Player of the Year candidates.

No Tarris Reed Jr. No Alex Karaban. No Solo Ball.

The Preseason Big East Player of the Year is all set up for a massive leap, but can he enter the same category as Jeremy Fears Jr. and Tyler Tanner as the elite guards of the sport?

The Oregon Ducks make headlines today as longtime head coach Dana Altman has opted to retire ahead of the 2026-27 season. Altman spent 16 seasons with the Ducks, but will usher in a new era. No announcement has been made yet, but the most likely outcome will be an interim promoted from within given the circumstances.

However, the main talking point is who could be looking to hit the portal at Oregon, as four names come to mind. All upperclassmen who transferred in, they could look to fill in voids on rosters across the country given the ongoing eligibility battles.

If there’s on Duck you don’t want to see leave, comment it down below ⬇️

The ACC is a loaded conference, with Duke viewed as the clear front runner. However, the Miami Hurricanes will certainly be making some noise this upcoming season, and Jai Lucas is playing a massive part of it.

How far do you think Miami goes this year?
