I AM…
A Father first. Lily did not choose me, she owes me nothing and I owe her everything. I get commended on how hard I work, hustle and what I consider small success so far. I do it all for her in hopes she is happy and has a great life. My first Father’s Day without my Dad I knew I was going to be a Father. 10 years later now, the day is still tough for me still but I celebrate it knowing I AM her Father. I hope @derekdel doesn’t mind me borrowing the opener from what I was so inspired by him.

Happy Father’s Day to all my friends and family that are doing what they do in all kinds of different scenarios.

My Uncle passed away Friday morning while I was on a flight back home. Interesting thing about that is that before I’d fly out of town, mostly always for work, I’d call and/or text him my flight details saying, “Clear the Skies” because he worked for Homeland Security at LAX. On my way back I’d say, “I’m on my way home (sweet home)” and we’d laugh.

He, my Dad and my Uncle Dave tore up the Sunset Strip and managed bands in the 80s. They were the inspiration for myself getting into music in the early part of my career. He was my Godfather and one of my Dad’s best friends.

He is the reason why I’m such a passionate LA sports fan. I remember being almost a teenager and being a Bulls and Packers fan because of Jordan and Favre and he told me, I don’t get why people aren’t sports fans of the places they live.

He instilled into me two things that I try to live by. 1) Family first, especially your children. 2) There is always something out there for you to learn.

He loved my daughter Lily and she loved hearing him talk about her Grandpa Ronn. Even as I’m writing this she told me, don’t be sad Papa, he’s with his best friend again.

I love you, say hi to my Dad & Oma and please keep clearing the skies for me when I fly. by @themarketer

When I was a young…

Man, just starting in the music business, I had the pleasure of working with a little band from New Jersey right as they got signed to @warnerrecords starting before they put out Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

To see them play in front of over 50,000 people will be something I’ll never forget.
