DEVON DUATHLON 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ You learn just as much from the losses as the wins. Felt strong after the opening run, coming in 9th. But the bike was a different story. Struggled to find my rhythm and lost 23 places. Also learnt that wearing a parachute windbreaker isn’t an aerodynamic decision. Finished 32nd overall and 7th in my age group. Not the result I wanted. Missed the top 4 for automatic Team GB qualification, but finished within the 120% qualifying standard, so there’s still a chance. Now it’s a waiting game. A real privilege to have met and competed alongside some of the best athletes in the UK. 🇬🇧 No excuses. Be authentic, take accountability and learn from what didn’t work. We go again soon. 👊 Next race 5-trails ultra 14.11.26 THE FIT 🏃‍♂️ ⛽️ @styrkr.uk Fuel 🏊 @huubdesign Tri Suit 👕 @247represent T-Shirt 🧥 @247represent Windbreaker 🧦 @shyusocks Racing Socks 👟 @adidasrunning x @adidasterrex Agravic Speed Ultra 2 ⌚ @garminrunning Forerunner 265 #DevonDuathlon #Duathlon #RunBikeRun #TeamGB #AgeGroupAthlete RaceDay EnduranceAthlete DuathlonTraining 247OnAMission STYRKR HUUB AdidasRunning TheMedsProject by @themedsproject

“Sometimes the hardest part of training is knowing when to stop training.” When I started this block, sub 1:20 wasn’t really the plan. I knew I’d probably left myself a little short on time, but figured I’d train for it anyway. Get as close as I could and see what happened. This week was probably harder mentally than physically. I’m used to training full throttle, so tapering felt completely backwards. Every part of me wanted to squeeze in one more session, one more hard run, one more bit of work. Had to trust that the work was already done. Race week 🇮🇹 60.28km running 🏃‍♂️ 3.5km swimming 🏊‍♂️ 40.56km cycling 🚴‍♂️ Trust the work. Trust the process. 🇬🇧 ONE WEEK UNTIL DEVON DUATHLON. The final full week of training before race day. A little more focus on swimming while gradually reducing the running and cycling volume. Still squeezed in some speed work, threshold sessions and a few unnecessary hills. 😂 This week’s training 📊 🏃 Running — 61 km 🚴 Cycling — 101 km 🏊 Swimming — 5.6 km 🏋️ Strength — 1h 06m ⏱️ Total — 11 hours Now for race week. Less volume, a little intensity and hopefully some fresh legs. The goal? Give myself the best possible shot at qualifying for Team GB. 🇬🇧 Training’s done. Time to put it to the test. Stick to the plan. Not the mood. Motivation comes and goes. Discipline is what keeps you moving when the excitement fades. Not every session will feel good. Not every day will be easy. But showing up consistently is what makes the difference. #DisciplineOverMotivation #ConsistencyIsKey #RunningMindset #EnduranceAthlete #TrustTheProcess by @themedsproject
