Might just become a vintage setup guy, tone down the expectations and commit myself to the unwieldy life. This one belongs to @f5records and is probably worth a thousand or so dollars, a million, who knows. You should have seen the look he gave me when I was reluctant to skate it. Like, you poor fool. These things are obviously made to stand on and bash against curbs, the world is burning and flooding and all we have is each other, plus toys. by @themostfunthing

Once again, it’s a celebration of that most vital of human technologies—the sentence.

The machines are here and oops, they’re miserable. Every day they’re pushed upon us by interests committed to making us less human, less engaged, less capable of expressing ourselves and knowing one another. Less able to read the world.

In this three-hour online class, we’ll move through a series of lessons and exercises to explore the connections between subjectivity and syntax. We will re-examine what it means to read a sentence, studying examples drawn from fiction, essays, and poems. We will appropriate and emulate, sharpening old tools to carve new paths into the realms of consciousness and language. By the end, we’ll leave with a new / renewed writing practice and ideally a little more faith in the species.

When: May 30, 8:00 am - 11:00 am MT (7:00-10:00 PT; 11:00-1:00 ET)

Cost: $100, sliding scale
