do you like collecting zines? how about photo-based + hybrid media art zines from poc and queer artists? do you like surprises in your mailbox? do you like making zines and wish you had a person to ask all sorts of questions about the process whenever you like?

well have i got a treat for you, because that’s exactly what you get from joining the 🅃🄷🄴🄼🅂🄴🄻🅅🄴🅂 🄿🅁🄴🅂🅂 🄿🄰🅃🅁🄴🄾🄽!

here’s what’s up

the zine collector tier is 💲20 per active month and gets you all my publications as they come out, plus exclusive personal work which i only release to you! i release 8-10 new works per year, most of which are from new artists for you to discover! i’m also here to help you with your zine making process, and you’ll have access to printing year round - even when i’m closed for commissions. ‼️there are 2 slots open in this tier, grab one while you can‼️ this tier is open to us and canada

NEW ZINE COLLECTOR SUBSCRIBERS this month can have their choice of ANY available zine in the press zine mart!

there is an identical tier for 💲30 for international supporters to cover additional postage

the art department tier is 💲10 per active month and gets you mini zines, prints or original art from that month’s featured artist (and sometimes my stuff too and cute swag like stickers or whatever new thing i come up with)! you’ll also have access to my brain and printer! international supporters welcome

the cutie club tier is 💲3 per active month and really helps make all this possible with just a few bux! cutie club gets mail upon signup, once during the summer, and once during the winter. it’s a steal really! everyone is welcome here too

a portion of your support will go directly towards the featured artist of the month so your 💰 doesn’t just keep the press going, but it supports various artists too

thank you all endlessly for your ❤️ and support, i couldn’t do this without you!

you know where the 🖇 is! 😌

i have a box of sweets for you! it’s filled with decadent vhs stills from riley valentine (@aheartshapeduterus), plucked lovingly from the crt installation at her solo show INTRAVENUS in chicago last year. want a bite? it’s in the shop now 📼🍬❤️

B SIDE VHS STILLS presents a selection of frames extracted from the vhs portion of riley valentine’s original INTRAVENUS installation. this zine slows motion into gesture, texture, and atmosphere, allowing each frame to function as a photograph in its own right. noise, static, and magnetic degradation are preserved as soft stills. B SIDE VHS STILLS is not a record of the exhibition- but a continuation of it, shifting vhs from fleeting spectacle into tangible artifact.

riley valentine is an artist and analog photographer based in chicago, illinois. she produces her work through the utilization of various photographic processes, placing importance on the intersection of the feminine gaze and photographic science. see more: rileyvalentine.net @aheartshapeduterus

a lesson in unconventional printing

i still wanted to make something to send my p+trons this month despite being in the limbo of printer repair, but being printer-less was not going to hold me back. hell, it didn’t stop our zine ancestors! 🫡 so i used my thermal label printer, a pair of scissors, and vintage letter stamps i found at an estate sale to whip up this valentine zine for you 💌

also included in everyone’s mail is a romantic risograph printed collage i made in a class i took at @lotsa.fun taught by @catdroool! so you get 2 servings of unconventional printing in one sweet little envelope 🍽️

my favorite way to create is by figuring out what’s available (or what’s not and how to achieve a similar result) and essentially doing creative problem solving to see how far i can get to my vision. i used to have to do this out of necessity, but now it’s evolved to become a major method of inspiration! by @themselvespress
