Awarded 2024 Songwriter of the Year by the YYC Music Awards, Matt Blais is a roots-rock troubadour in search of authenticity - passionately advocating for connection. As a singer-songwriter, recording artist, and touring live performer, he has developed a purpose-driven creative life that inspires that connection in listeners. Performing meaningful songs with his signature belting vocals and harmonica work, Blais has built a full-time career with fans across Canada.

A former Calgary Public Library Songwriter in Residence, Matt has collaborated with Sam Roberts, played over a thousand shows, opened for acts such as Blue Rodeo, Collective Soul, and April Wine, and has been awarded with “Male Artist of the Year” at the YYC Music Awards, and “Best Rock Song” at The Great American Song Contest. With these kinds of credentials, we’re honoured to have Matt joining us once again on the Off Cut Bar stage!

Looking for a unique Calgary food experience? Cocktail Club at The Nash is such a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. 🍸

This Inglewood Calgary restaurant pairs four cocktails with four tasting plates, all built around one seasonal theme.

This round was all about preserving summer, with everything from tuna carpaccio and plum mezcal sake to duck breast with pear mulled wine.

My favourite was easily the Taber corn “dog” with Shropshire cheese sauce and honey mustard. I would order that again immediately.

The theme changes every time, and the next Cocktail Club at The Nash is Halloween. These events tend to sell out quickly, so keep an eye out for tickets.

This Thursday! We’re thrilled to welcome @abbiethurgood with special guest @petervesuwalla back to the @offcutbar stage at The Nash!

Best known as the frontwoman for Calgary psych-rockers, @gonecosmic , Abbie Thurgood has a voice that defies any genre. Her early start in blues, country, and rock took her all the way to Nashville, Tennessee, then moving back into ‘60s soul with Calgary’s Torchettes. From there Abbie found her calling as a powerhouse rock ’n’ roll songstress.

Accompanying her for an intimate acoustic set at the Off Cut Bar is Peter Vesuwalla, well-known in Calgary’s jam scene, collaborating often on rock, blues, funk, hip-hop, and reggae projects.

Music kicks off every Thursday night from 7pm – 9pm! As always, there’s no cover charge, the full Nash menu is on offer, and Happy Hour runs all night!
