Hey @drinkspindrift this flavor slaps! But also, my brain still trips out on how negative shifting of midi clock somehow adds the bounce when combined with parts that are behind the beat.

Shout out to all y’all live drummers who have all crafted their respective bounces!

Built on @reasonstudios Reason 14 using a @yamahasynths_official Reface CS, Decap’s #drumsthatknock 11 (can’t seem to tag ya my g, but as always, fire pack!) and that @future_audio_workshop 808. taken in Orange County, California by @thenightshift

Clearly I wasn’t the only person doomscrolling only to skrrrrt back up to the fire acapella that @shashajones posted not too long ago that blew up on the producer algorithm so couldn’t not do a little something with it!

It has the classic 90s / 2000s era Brandy vibe to it but with a little pitch and tempo flip, a funky synth line and a bouncy pocket and I might just have to finish this for the DJ homies ya knowwwww! by @thenightshift

Best drink of the summer? Y’all know I love proper flavor bomb of a crafted coffee drink and this checks all the boxes.

@re__caphe created this Hibiscus Milk Punch with tangerine cordial and hibiscus syrup and as someone who has been curious about clarified milk drinks, now I know I gotta try making one at home. These drinks take work, will force you to sit with it as the flavor journey is v similar to a cocktail in terms of nose, palate mouthfeel and finish.

A more expensive menu item at $13, but I’ll be back for one since it’s a limited menu item built around the coffee it was paired with.

Kudos to @withbrandonn for initially putting me on via his fantastic curation of my local coffee community and doing a recipe breakdown.

What drinks have lingered in your flavor memory banks recently?

Shoutout to @spitfireaudio for sending me an early copy of #AirStudiosReverb to check out! I can def say that the vibes were vibing, I will be dialing it in to become a part of my sonic palette for sure.

I appreciate that while not instead of an overwhelming collection of many rooms as convolution reverbs tend to be, you instead get 2 distinct hall profiles, along with Canopy and Gallery Damping adjustments, and even a granular stretch mode. This along with the mixer options keep the sound designer in me satisfied and the producer in me confident that I can find my own sweet spot sonically.

Air Studios Reverb is currently on intro #sale for 20% off until June 16th, and you can find more details and audio demos at https://www.spitfireaudio.com/air-studios-reverb

I highly recommend checking out their #Free LABS and BBC Orchestra Discover if you need some beautiful organic sample libraries to get you started as well.

PS: Anyone want to have a crack at flipping this sample?

Call them arps, pedaling, ostinatos, jazzy repetitive phrasing vibes. They’re always fun to do and play around. I feel like @brynbliska or @nicholastsemrad or @peterjdyer would have the technical terminology down so apologies in advance. But in trying to make the vibes cooler, I made it so my producer brain can’t catch the one haaaa.

Anyhow, usual rig suspects:

@yamahamusicusa MSP5a (throwbaaaack) and Reface on controller duties.
@arturia_official Stage 73-2
@nativeinstruments AbbeyRoad 60s kit with some tweaks and the OG Scarbee P Bass
@reasonstudios twin Radical Pianos and Complex 1 with Jazz Expressionist on lead duties cuz duh. by @thenightshift

So AJ doesn’t play around with drum breaks so I could have easily just grabbed one of my own samples from the vault and flipped a proper Griselda type beat BUT when the work given is clearly crafted, I wanted to respect that and built out an initial sample which plays at the top with my little vocal stylings tape stopped under the second tasty drum fill and dropped into a chop of myself ha. Given that I finally dove i to #DillaTime today, it seemed fitting to tilt my proverbial fitted New Era to that classic head nod tempo and dust off that siren sample.

Much respect to @ajhall89 cuz the tape saturation and dust on these breaks are big flames. by @thenightshift

Truly a magical night of venturing into a new community and what a beautiful one it is that @parasol.la have built. I’m happy to have partook in an evening that had its twists and turns (we missed you @sidebrain and @kvyren ❤️) but was a beautiful celebration of openness and music, “crunch” (cc: @annikawells ) and kindness. A gentle reminder to myself that some mindful breathing is a good thing, but even better when lead by kind intention. I got to listen to @chloelilac and @annikawells and that was a sonic blessing, not to mention they’re both super rad people. Always good to see @_mllz_ and can’t wait to check out the next one @parasol.la ❤️❤️❤️ taken in Los Angeles, California by @thenightshift

Forgot to record this but as a keyboard player who can’t guitar to save his life, I always forget that a Clav gets you in a similar vibe for certain types of parts with the right effects. Shoutout @arturia_official and that #ADwah patch.

My @ampcoffeela iced pour over makes a great phone stand. This @saintfrankcoffee bourbon rosado natural is bomb. Shout out @brenden_davisortiz_ on the brew barrrrr.

@arturia_official helping me list over all the vintage keyboards so tastefully sampled and I did my #combinator #layer trick with 2x Radical Pianos and a Radical Keys and I might still go back and add a vocal texture layer to this but it’s a vibe. #kontakt on bass and drums and I’ve got a tasty little composition to revisit.

Amyone have a small back house they want to rent me? I’ll be the LoFi chill hop playlist of your dreams and brew you some fire coffee 🙏🏽 ☕️

All that aside, @reasonstudios RDK Mono has some sauce along with the ReGroove patches for some #bounce on that #sampleflip . @xlnaudio #RC20 with Hotline Phase as a starting point is also *chef’s kiss*
