today was such an amazing day. spent 7 hours with a Costa Rican Indigenous Shaman where we learned the process of chocolate making, making twine from a literal plant in front of my eyes. in the photo of the selfie where it looks like i have makeup up on, the shaman literally did our makeup with a plant that is red pigmented, it was soooo cute. then we foraged/learned about medicinal herbs of the land and ate some pretty nasty tasting (but amazing for you) things as well as yummy things. I did eat termites😳😳😳 they tasted like ginger. apparently it was their way to survival. then we gathered herbs for a heated sweat hut ceremony where we chanted and cleansed the soul. very magical, very pure. Then we had the privilege to eat dinner at the families hut house with everyone and the we got to eat all the handmade chocolate for a tasting. then followed by a water fall hike that we had to ourselves!! there where some banana trees i foraged, my mini dream was to harvest bananas in costa rica hehehe. such a cleansing day. i wasn’t able to capture it all because i was very immersed in the moment and it’s something you need to experience on your own <3 taken in Puerto Viejo, Limon, Costa Rica by @thenomadicphoenix
