Decluttering & organising is just like a home workout 🏋️‍♀️ - here’s why!! I really didn’t want to exercise today - but I made myself do it! Despite walking 10,000 steps at work today, in order to stay fit I had to do some extra training, so out came my skipping rope & dumbbells 💪💪 Organista’s just 10 minutes later it was done. Keeping fit for myself & for my job is my nonnegotiable. You just have to make that decision for yourself… Are you ready to commit to yourself? #IAmTheOrganisedOne #TheOrganisingLady #NothingFeelsAsGoodAsLess #HomeworkWorkout #Skipping #Workout #DoingItForMyself #Nonnegotiable #KeepingFitAtHome #StayingOrganisedAtHome #Organised #Declutter #SometimesYouJustGottaDoIt 🎵Music Ikson - You & Me by @theorganisinglady

Welcome to another of my wardrobe ‘clobber conversions’. This time I’m cutting my redundant and too big for me and too short …. Zara Dress in half! I’ve turned it into a fabulous blouse, which I will wear way more with my high waisted, flares. Cute💚 👖

Are you brave enough to try cutting clothes in half from your wardrobe? Maybe you already do? I’ve never been afraid to do stuff like this. As a kid I used to make my Barbie doll clothes, and my mum taught me to knit 🧶 sew 🪡 crochet 🧶 I loved it and I was always making or hacking up old clothes to make something new!! ✂️ 😆

POV Excuses or objections are the same thing? Objection, somehow sounds less like a grown up telling you off though. Saying - Excuses, that sounds like you’re properly in for it!!

Sometimes our belongings really do feel overwhelmingly heavy. Although I talk about this all the time I’ve been trying to think about how my messaging can resonate for even more people. Here goes - Changing habits are linked to our emotions - we often raise the most ridiculous objections (excuses) to ourselves, that we are not always conscious of.

Previously learned habits completely overrule any new directions we may be trying to move our minds toward. Even if rationally we know they will be more beneficial we are our own saboteurs… ffs 🤦‍♀️

So - think about how wonderful it feels when you go on holiday 🌍 🌊 ☀️ the moment you dump that suitcase and you open the doors of your holiday room…. you feel amazing 🤩 you unpack , oh the joy 🙌 but if you pack too much stuff in the case, it feels a bit tedious a bit heavy, it feels…. somewhat less good right?

How often when you come home do you plot and plan… wondering how you can go back, maybe how can you change your life?

Letting you into no secret here but - How you actually can you improve your life 🔑 often the answer to this is to simply have less.

When you’re on holiday, you have less of everything (except maybe the buffet of course) Generally there was less stress, there was less work. There are less definitely less belongings. Your belongings create lots of the overwhelming narrative… not only in your head but physically - just how you move around in the space in which you live now versus when you’re away. I think there is a difference do you?

DM me your book your Declutter package before Christmas. 🎄

You’re Doing Amazing!

Note to self - Don’t forget that!

Everyday life at work for me. More than 10 years in business (so proud 😊even though I don’t celebrate this often enough) Not ever did I think ever!!! 🤷‍♀️ When I set up in business I’d be using heavy machinery to remove almost 6 tons of admiralty chain… ⛓️‍💥🚢 !!! I’d be helping so many people to relocate all over the world and welcoming and settling clients just arriving in the UK. Home staging and moving families in and around London and Surrey and beyond. Decluttering whole homes, wardrobes kitchen’s playroom and garages… you name it I’ve probably decluttered it… coaching clients and giving them the confidence to walk forward and manage their homes and lives in a new way that gives them more freedom.

Daily filming and creating content for social media or my YouTube. 🎥 📸

I can’t capture everything in this ten seconds of clips … but I wanted to use this post as a bit of an opportunity to also give myself a pat on the back (which to be honest I’m pretty $h!t at doing) …. I tend to be the person that cracks on with stuff every day without pausing to reflect. I recognise other people‘s hard work and determination- but I am not very good at recognising and rewarding myself. So here it is a little shout out to myself, you’re doing alright 🫶🙋‍♀️

currently booking for December, so if you are wanting to declutter and become more organised before Santa arrives, send me a DM to arrange a date to talk and let’s get you booked in 🙌

Ever feel like you’re doing too much?

It’s an easy habit to slip into… especially if you’re a yes person. Sometimes it’s easier to say yes because the process of saying no feels mentally too big. Before you know it’s not just your house that is full of clutter it feels like your head is bursting too….

30 second declutter hack isn’t going to cut it.
If you’re drowning in clutter, another tip or 30 second hack isn’t what you need.

My clients need confidence, routines and someone alongside them (me) not another hack

Real change happens one step at a time. And that’s the work I love doing 🫶

When I work with clients, we have so many different conversations. We don’t just declutter and organise cupboards we work through daily habits, thoughts, feelings, how you’re living, how you’re using your space, and what your commitments really look like.

Whether it’s work, family, or simply the massive pile of things you’ve overloaded yourself with…

Learning to breathe again is achievable.

Believing in yourself even if you never have before is achievable when there’s not so much weighing you down.

It’s getting hot in here …. Keep hydrated 💦

🧊Here are some keeping cool tips…

☀️ Block Out the Heat
🖤 Close curtains & blinds during the hottest hours.
🪟 Use reflective or tinted window films.
💨 Open windows at night or early morning for a breeze.
🧊 Cool the Interior
💡 Switch to LED bulbs
🔥 Skip the oven, use a microwave, air fryer, or have cold meals
🔌 Unplug devices when not in use
🚪 Close off unused rooms
❄️ Try a DIY ice fan (bowl of ice in front of a fan)
🐾 Pet Care in the Heat
💧 Keep water fresh in ceramic/stainless bowls
🌡️ Keep pets indoors from 10am to 4pm
🔥 Pavement too hot for your hand = too hot for paws
🌬️ Use fans, cooling mats, or damp towels
🚗 Never leave pets in cars
🚨 Signs of heatstroke: panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting. Cool with damp towels and call your vet.
🦔 Help Wildlife
💧 Leave shallow water with stones for bees & birds
🔁 Refill often and keep clean
🌳 Let parts of the garden grow wild for shade
🏡 Add shelter like pots, boxes, or leafy spots

💚 Stay cool

As a professional organiser, you’d think I’d have everything perfectly in place all the time… but the truth is, some days I really do and other days, life looks a lot messier.

Some days everything flows, the plans work, and I feel on top of it all. Other days, I’m juggling so many situations that something has to give…. and sometimes I don’t even have the energy to try and hold it all together.

As a wife, parent and grandparent and dog mum! There are days I feel like I’m truly showing up in the way I want to… and others where it feels like I’m falling short on every front. Life throws curved balls at us, just recently we’ve had a few chucked right in our faces….. so I’ve been taking extra time out for us to just be together.

Someone said to me recently that it looks like I’ve got everything “perfectly organised” on Instagram. My honest reaction? Not even close. I’d never want anyone to see that and feel like they need to live up to it.

Yes, I care deeply about what I do and I always give my best to make my business the best it can be, but real life doesn’t fit neatly into labelled boxes every single day. You can’t plan for everything, you can only do the best you can and when you can. I’ve tried so hard to do and be the best, it’s something I’ve always done because life is easier with routine for sure…. But but but… Even as an organiser, I don’t have all my ducks in a row all the time (ffs especially my wardrobe 🤷‍♀️) and that’s okay.

So please, don’t compare your reality to what you see online. It’s never the full story.

In this video you see a couple walking in the sunshine. And everything looks so lovely and on the surface it really is wonderful - but underneath this is the first walk we took after David’s 2nd heart procedure…. And I am beyond grateful he is making a good recovery, but I am watching him like a hawk… emotionally I’m secretly trying to hold it together…

Whatever kind of day you’re having, perfectly planned or beautifully chaotic 🙌I hope it’s a good one🫶🙋‍♀️🫶

Another year around the sun ☀️

It’s my birthday week and instead of having a fantastically slick Video I literally have spent the last 30 minutes cobbling this together slapped on some Hall & Oates… and it will be fine - because sometimes done is better than perfect… I could’ve really over thought this and planned it for a whole week, but actually I haven’t done an Instagram reel for a couple of weeks and the truth is this is helping to fill my grid 🤣🙈 I can’t remember a time when my life was this busy 🙈🤯 Life is cooking up a storm at the moment and today will be no different. I’m actually full of cold…. But I’m going to haul my butt to my daughters and will continue with the painting because sometimes you just gotta get sh!t done even if it is your birthday…. I’m not saying don’t take time for yourself, but sometimes you’ve just gotta pull it out of the bag and today’s no different.
