Antietam Staff Ride 2026.

This weekend, Buckeye Battalion joined @capitalrotc for a staff ride to Antietam National Battlefield. Cadets studied the Battle of Antietam, walked the terrain, and connected the decisions of leaders from 1862 to the leadership challenges Soldiers face today.

A valuable opportunity to learn from the past and apply those lessons to the future.

SENIOR SUNDAY | CDT ANNA CINELLI

This week, we’re highlighting CDT Anna Cinelli, HHC 1SG.

A Nursing major and Anatomy minor from North Attleboro, Massachusetts, CDT Cinelli hopes to commission into the Army National Guard Medical Service Corps.

She joined ROTC to continue her family’s tradition of service while creating her own path as a Buckeye.

Her favorite ROTC memory was MilBall 2026, where she saw months of planning come together and gained valuable experience in attention to detail, briefing, public speaking, and event planning.

ROTC has taught her that the little things matter. Success comes from refining the details, learning from mistakes, and continually improving the plan.

Her advice to fellow cadets: “Don’t become so focused on the mission that you lose sight of who you are. Take care of your people, and never be afraid to lean on those around you.”

Meet senior, CDT William Kennedy!

A Political Science major from Hamilton, OH, CDT Kennedy joined ROTC with a clear goal: to become a Soldier while pursuing his interest in law and finding ways to use his abilities to help others.

His ROTC experience has reinforced the importance of planning, preparation, and developing others so that you can rely on your team when it matters most. From training to the occasional memorable stair climb, CDT Kennedy’s experiences have taught him lessons that extend well beyond the classroom and training field.

His advice to new cadets? Take ROTC seriously, even when it may not always feel that way. The experience is an opportunity to challenge yourself, learn from others, and grow into the leader you want to become.
