The Pagan Room is a home tiki bar in San Diego. Named after the original Pagan Room located in San Diego from 1959-1962 🗿🍹 @rad_brad_sd

Tiki bar names, what was the inspiration for yours? Our’s came from an excellent talk by author and historian Martin S. Lindsay @classicsandiego at Tiki Oasis detailing the history of San Diego’s Tiki Establishments going back to 1928. He included a slide of an advertisement of the short lived Pagan Room, a tiki bar located in La Jolla circa 1962. I loved the ad and the name, so we decided to pay homage to that bar with ours. Martin has recently uncovered some cool new photos of the Pagan Room in the archives which he shared with us. Now to find someone to carve the Bumatay style tiki for us! @tikioasis #tiki #tikibar #sandiegotiki by @thepaganroom

That’s wrap on @tikioasis 2026! We have been coming since 2011 and still have a great time seeing old friends and making new ones. From the best pre-event party ever at the private @theheadhuntersd , killer sets by @the_scimitars , fun room parties @donbeachcomber interesting and fun seminars @classicsandiego and the always huge tiki marketplace , it was a wild ride. See y’all next year! #tikioasis #tiki taken in Tiki Oasis by @thepaganroom

It’s hard to capture the WOW factor at @theheadhuntersd in 3 or 4 pics on my old iphone, much less 25 pics. The immersivness and attention to detail is everywhere, and never fails to make me walk around with my mouth open. 😮. And if you have a keen eye, some of San Diego’s tiki history lives on here. Thanks again for having us Jonny and Ilze! #tiki #tikibar #sandiegotiki #homebar #hometikibar #sandiego taken in San Diego, California by @thepaganroom

“Exotic Dark Wave” is it possibly a new genre? Sounds so awesome played thru vintage golden age audio. New release from Jason Lee’s Dark Entities @tikiguitarplayer and @houseoftabu . #marantzvintage #marantz6300 #marantz2275 #ar5speakers taken in Del Cerro by @thepaganroom

Spotted in the 1956 Film noir “A Kiss Before Dying”. Being a big lover of vintage rattan, I had always wanted to acquire one for our bar after seeing the beautiful and large example at the @theheadhuntersd So stoked to have found one, they are getting rare and expensive! #tiki #hometikibar #tikibar #filmnoir #sandiegotiki #paganroom taken in Del Cerro by @thepaganroom
