Sharing lessons I’ve discovered from my spiritual process

After years of pursuing my purpose, I was recently invited to speak at my first public engagement for an educational institution. I led in facilitating a conversation amongst the network of Berklee City Music during their amazing four day summit.

The non-profit organization founded by Berklee College of Music enables youth from under-resourced communities across the US, Canada, & Latin America to develop musically, academically, socially, & emotionally, primarily through the study of contemporary music & the performing arts.

Being a lover of music myself, I felt so honored to engage with fellow educators who are striving to cultivate the next generation of leaders in this field, as well as with the students who will go off to change the face of culture in the future.

My intention was simply to allow everyone to feel at ease with bringing their voice to the conversation so the incredible value of the network could be revealed.

During the talk I was in awe with people’s willingness & ability to show who they are, why they attended the summit, what they had to sacrifice to participate, & how they will improve in playing their part going forward.

I’m beyond grateful to have played a pivotal role in enriching the life a great community! & I look forward to doing it again & again with others across the world.

I recently changed the picture on my drivers license because my appearance has changed significantly since the last time I took one 10 years ago.

It was before I took shadow work / self improvement seriously. It was on my mind, but there was no dedicated practice.

If you look close into my eyes on the left, you’ll see someone who’s lost, tired, & disconnected from a real sense of purpose. Someone who’s trying to fit in, but was never meant to.

After a decade of sustaining my purpose of awakening through all the confusion, heartbreak, shame, guilt, anger, etc., the blossoming you see on the right has shown up. By my own efforts combined with the Grace of the Spirit (who does the real work!), the darkness that loomed over me vanished, & a whole new person has entered the game.

Becoming a concrete example of transformation is my greatest achievement thus far. & I’ve done so by using all the teachings I offer through my work; which are truly just downloads from Spirit.

I’m sharing this to explain that there is always a way out of your own way, & back towards your highest good. No matter what you’re going through, there’s at least a sliver of redemption you can hold onto & ride all the way back to your sense of joy & authenticity.

Let your innermost self guide you back home, & it will happen. by @thepeacebuild

If you find yourself faced with a conventional obstacle, the way out is confronting it with an unconventional pattern of behavior: a course of action that’s opened simply by looking inward to see what the Creation has delivered to you. by @thepeacebuild

When was the last time you were still, & took time to listen inward?

The open space you create for yourself in quiet moments, reveals the exact attitude, thoughts, & course of action to reach the next level you’re seeking.

There is an undercurrent of energy & wisdom that flows through us all, waiting for us to receive its insight.

We just have to take time away from the noise at the surface to claim this eternal present.
