| Front cover reveal 🕯️ Illustrated by me!
Very x1000 excited to be sharing these poems. This started as one poem that fleshed out in December 2024 and a few months later, I had a complete story to tell. These poems truly grew with me, and I’m still learning from many of them. I’m happy to be sharing the process, especially on my birthday. Now, me and my baby have the same birthday 🥹📖

A few things:
•The release of the 1st edition is a digital release! The link is in my bio and it is free to view! Having my work be accessible is so so important to me. How can my poems do the work they need to if they’re not accessible?
•The book’s current home is temporary. It’s a starter home while I figure out how to serve us both the best! Self publishing is a tall mountain to climb, but I didn’t want to prolong the start any longer! If anyone has tips/recommendations, I’m more than happy to talk!
•There will be physical copies available in the future. Unfortunately, because your girl‘s not rich, those will come with a price to assist with printing/shipping costs. However, there will be more poems to experience for that price. Stay tuned for the 2nd edition🕯️

Thank You in advance for reading, sharing, living in the world, & going on this ride with me! I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes! Thank You to everyone who encouraged and supported me during the writing & illustration process 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹. I could not have done this without my village. I left little love letters at the end of the book 💌. And Thank You to the giants, Ntozake Shange & Faith Ringgold, that carried me through this. I’m hoping you see and feel their presence throughout this book 🪞

thank you “a body of our own” for being so so warm and energizing. From set up to take down, the energy was welcoming, supportive, and curious, in the best ways. I’m thankful for the cathartic reminders of being stronger together that were sprinkled throughout the night. Hearing everyone’s voices chanting with my own made me confident about sharing my own individual voice (b/c I was super nervous lol). The whole night was a reminder to *be* and to remind everyone the responsibility we have to protect each other’s being.
I was excited to be chosen to share my visual art piece “This Intricate Existence”, along with my poem “Queerness as a Watercolor Painting”. Together, they make the statement that beyond the flesh is the soul, the truest essence of a person. Queer people do not owe anyone labels nor do we need to force our essence into a box to be given dignity, respect, and sight.
I’m thankful to everyone for receiving these pieces so well and I LOVED witnessing all of the art that were shared.

| “The Fool in Springtime” is the second poem I submitted to a literary magazine (though it was the first rejection letter & there’s something to celebrate about that lol 🥂). This poem is inspired by the Fool tarot card, and it’s honestly pretty experimental for me. I debated sharing but ultimately found it silly to hoard! 🏇🌷🌼 by @thepheltpen

| 2016 nostalgia but in poems 😅. I started “Dear ‘The Artist’”, my fourth mini collection, that year and had noo idea that I’d still be sharing poems, that I would teach poetry, and that I would overall start making it my center 😭. I pulled these straight from the vault and edited nothing so be kind to 16 y/o me 💀🐚
