Hey gang!

And happy Tuesday from your favorite video store Mom, here at Cap City lounge. Thank you so much for coming out to such a sick ass show last night. Again, thank you to @teamdaikaiju , @thechodesofficial , @the_intoxicators_band and @pineappletuesdayofficial for an incredible time. Thank you to our featured comedians @tawnyholbrook @baileyfernscomedy and @sleepygotjokes!!!! But, most of all thank you to you… The Cap City crew! We had so much fun. We keep just staying open on Mondays! We can’t say no to you guys.

It is officially Godzilla day and we are in the shop getting ready to honor our favorite big bitch lizard! Godzilla is both a reflection of what we as people have done to the Earth and each other… But also a symbol of rebellion and survival. I could not think of a better day for midterm election day to land on.

Come out tonight to join your favorite mom and pop to watch Godzilla minus one and Shin Godzilla. Let’s all get ready to see the new Godzilla in theaters on November 6! I know you’ll be finding us at the @challengertlh . See you tonight gang!

"The biting satire from Toho Studios ranks amongst the best kaiju movies ever made, and returns the classic Japanese monster to not only his humongous on-screen prowess, but his raw political symbolism."
-Siddhant Adlakha, Joy Sauce

"Anno delivers a singular take on Godzilla that’s bound to stick with its audience long after the credits roll, a damning indictment on government incompetence that’s only improved with age."
-Ian Thomas Malone

"It’s overwhelming in a way that feels immense and essential, like the monster it worships and the facades he tears down."
-Lucas Trevor, Washington Post

Happy Godzilla Day 2026, Gang!

"Godzilla Minus One is not only a triumphant return of the most beloved Kaiju of all, but also a deeply emotional experience that re-assessing the themes of the original Godzilla in a refreshing way."
-Pieter-Jan Van Haecke, Psychocinematography

"This movie has it all. It had me laughing, crying, shocked, upset, and enthralled. To bounce from hard hitting emotional scenes to incredibly jarring and crazy action scenes and have it effortlessly flow is extremely difficult, yet Yamazaki did it..."
-Sydney Lee, Horror Movie Talk

"This is easily, by a pretty wide margin, the best human movie that's ever been in a Godzilla movie."
-Vera Wylde, Council of Geeks

Tonight we were open on a Monday. We booked a band that multiple people told us, might not be a wise choice for our space. We let someone set their drum kit on fire in the lounge. I can’t explain the energy that was in the store tonight. We were packed to the gills. People listening to music, socializing, watching movies, eating Tallahassee’s best popcorn ….. it was perfect. What we always knew it could be.

Everytime we try something new, it’s like magic. You guys keep showing up for us! For all our wild ideas. We were so unsure of whether or not we could even move to this new location. Now we’re growing leaps and bounds every day. Because of you.

Take the risk. Do the thing. Even if it’s terrifying! Your video store Mom ‘n Pop believe in you. Just like you believe in us!

Thanks for another great evening Tallahassee. And thanks to @pineappletuesdayofficial @thechodesofficial @the_intoxicators_band and @teamdaikaiju for fucking killing it. What a blast! #capcityvideolounge #tallahassee #momandpopvideoshop #yourfavoritevideostoremom #ccvl by @theprimalroot
