Zia Ul Karim One of the pioneers of The Qi, a name that needs no introduction especially if you have ever been a part of the circle. Certainly a name that lives through every instrument played in The Qi. A soul, a Qi that keeps the circle alive & connected. Just last week he left a void in all of our hearts. We lost an asset at a time where he had just started & had so much to give back. A gifted musician left us too soon & passed away in an accident in Altit, Pakistan. But hes of those who continue to live on because of the legacy that they leave behind From reviving Xhigini to mentoring, guiding & inspiring young musicians in Hunza (& throughout) dedicating his life to it, he truly did justice to what its called to keeping the music alive. Or to say it in @zulfiqarjkhan ‘s words “one of the honest propagators of music in our country” The loss is undeniably irreparable but we hope & promise to keep your legacy alive, through your name, in your name, Zia Bhai.🤍 Happy jammings in the heavens. Circle 2025 🍁 by @theqiofficial
What a wonderful experience it was performing at Alhamra! This event was truly special for the QI family, as it marked our very first performance outside of NCA with the full choir. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support and guidance of our incredible circle and our amazing directors — Arij Karim, Ali Ahad, and Shafqat Ali. A heartfelt thank you to each of you. A special shoutout goes to our former director Shehroze Bhai, as well as Saad Bhai, Tehreem, and Faizan .your efforts behind the scenes meant the world to us. And of course, much love and respect to our senior performers: Ali Shahjahan, Hassan, and Ali Azhar. Your presence on stage inspired us all. by @theqiofficial

Some projects stay close to the heart, not because of how perfectly the pictures turned out, but because of who was in front of the lens. The Qi has always held a special place in my NCA memories. I remember being a student, eagerly waiting for their performances, getting lost in their melodies, and feeling the kind of magic only live music can bring. There was something so raw, so honest about their art, it stayed with me. Last semester, I had the chance to photograph them. And it wasn’t just a shoot, it was a full circle moment. To capture the very people I once stood in the crowd for. To freeze in time the sounds, the faces, the energy that once moved me. These photos are special. Because behind every frame is a rhythm, a voice, a memory and immense talent. I’m grateful I got to listen, to witness, and to document. To The Qi, thank you for the music, the soul, and the silence between note by @theqiofficial
