The Quad @ ECR is here.

📍 Injambakkam
Classes start October 19th.

Drop us a DM to save your spot.

And what are we bringing with us?

Strength training that makes your life better.
Move well. Stay pain-free. Keep doing the things you love, and stay independent for as long as possible.

That starts with the right kind of coaching. The kind that gets the basics right, builds from there, and helps you build strength that actually shows up in life. taken in Injambakkam, ECR by @thequad.in

Subu is a wedding photographer and the founder of @saycheesecaptures

His work involves standing for 8–9 hours, running around weddings, carrying equipment, and doing it all over again the next day.

Before he started training, getting through even a few hours of a shoot was super tiring, and taking a toll on his knees.

Today, he’s taking on bigger weddings, multi-day shoots, and doing more of the work he loves.

When we asked him what his life would’ve looked like if he’d never started training, his answer was:
“I would’ve died by now!”

Dramatic? Maybe a little. But he genuinely doesn’t think he’d be able to do the work he’s doing today without getting stronger.

And we think that’s the coolest part of his journey. Strength training didn’t just change his body. It changed what he can do with it. by @thequad.in

A lot of us growing up probably didn’t see our parents exercise regularly. Which is why these notes made us smile so much :)

Their parents train with us, some virtually from home and some at our centres. It probably feels completely normal to these kids right now. And that’s kind of the point.

They’re growing up seeing their parents make time to move, get stronger and look after themselves. And maybe years from now, when it’s their turn, exercise won’t feel like this extra thing they suddenly have to add to life.

It’ll just feel normal, because that’s what they grew up seeing at home. by @thequad.in

Swipe through to see how different strength can look on our students.

These are regular people, living regular lives, who got stronger and saw it show up in very different ways.

That’s #EveryKindOfStrong.

Shanky has been training with us for over a decade and is now in his 70s. And honestly, ask any coach who has trained him and they’ll probably first tell you what a lovely person he is to have in class.

He’s cheerful, respectful, friendly with everyone, always smiling, always on time and always listening to his coaches. He trains virtually and still drops into our in-person classes whenever he gets the chance.

And after all these years, he still runs, squats, does push-ups, trains with kettlebells and generally moves through life as a very active, capable person.
Perhaps our favourite thing about Shanky’s story is how completely normal all of this seems to him. With Shanky, being in his 70s doesn’t seem to come with this big story about what he can’t do.

He just… does things. He trains. He moves well. He stays active. He shows up. He lives his life.
And after knowing him for all these years, that might be one of our favourite examples of what being strong can look like.

Chaitali has been running marathons for over 11 years. But over the last couple of years, things got harder. Perimenopause brought changes in her pace, endurance and recovery. Then, while training for a marathon, she picked up a hip injury that meant months of rehab and constantly adapting how she trained.

She still completed the marathon. And somewhere in the middle of all that, she signed up for her first HYROX.

She finished that too. Then went on to compete in another one in Delhi. And now she’s already looking forward to her third.

What we love about Chaitali’s story is that she hasn’t needed everything to feel perfect before continuing to challenge herself. She trains around what her body can do, adjusts when she needs to, and keeps showing up.

Because getting stronger doesn’t always mean things get easier. Sometimes it means you get better at adapting when they don’t.

A little more to these three👇

📸 Pathy joined us in 2019 while he was in Chennai on vacation. His kids had called him out for enjoying all his favourite food here and not exercising like he did back in the US 😂 Raj initially said no because Pathy was only here for two months, but changed his mind after meeting him. That exception somehow turned into seven years with us.

⛰️ Anusha is a mom of two and a social worker who went into Kilimanjaro with an ankle she’d fractured in 2007. When that ankle twisted again during the climb, choosing to turn back became an even bigger decision. Sometimes it takes more strength to stop when you know that’s the better choice for you. Her endurance is much better now, and she’s been joking about giving Kilimanjaro another shot.

🚂 Deepa has been with us for nine years. She lives in Bangalore, but has literally gotten off an overnight train in Chennai, come straight to class with all her bags, trained, and then gone home 😅 She even travels down for every Sports Day.
