Hi, I’m Cassidy 👋 trauma therapist, EMDR approved consultant, trainer, and published author of Becoming Me: Unraveling and Healing the Sacred Wounds of Religious Trauma in Women.

I created this space because I know the struggles trauma therapists and EMDR clinicians face:
✨ Feeling like basic training didn’t prepare you for the realities of complex trauma
✨ Freezing in crisis sessions and questioning if you should abandon the protocol or model you were taught
✨ Sitting with clients navigating dissociation, religious trauma, or overwhelming memories and wondering, “Am I doing this right?”

Here’s the truth: you don’t need more theory. You need practical trauma therapy tools, EMDR scripts, and trauma-informed strategies you can actually use in session.

💜 This is your space for trauma therapy resources, EMDR tools, religious trauma insights, and real support for therapists who want nuance, honesty, and community.

If that’s you… you’re in the right place.

If you’re a trauma or EMDR therapist who wants nuance, honesty, and real tools… Drop a 💜 in the comments so I know you found your people.

Knowing the EMDR protocol is one thing. Knowing when not to move forward is a different clinical skill.

With complex trauma, hesitation isn’t always resistance. Sometimes it’s important information about safety, readiness, or stability that deserves our attention before we move into processing.

Learning to recognize those moments takes more than memorizing the protocol. It takes clinical judgment, experience, and a deeper understanding of what your client needs in the room. 💛

If you want to deepen your EMDR skills and feel more confident supporting complex trauma clients, comment TRANSFORM and I’ll reach out to you.

Actually, instead of Dr. Phil, just call me!

Basic EMDR training gives you a foundation, but complex trauma can bring challenges that leave even experienced therapists questioning their next move. 🫠

You deserve training that helps you navigate the messy, complicated moments of clinical work with more confidence.

Comment TRANSFORM and I’ll reach out with details about in-depth EMDR trainings. 💬

Some of these took years to learn. They were how you survived. 👻

But this year, we’re leaving them on read.

Ghosting the people-pleasing, the shame that was never yours and the belief that needing help means you’re failing. Making room for the version of you that’s finally coming home. 💜

If you’re ready to stop ghosting yourself, our trauma-specialized therapists are here. 8 Utah locations + virtual statewide.

Trauma can make the past feel surprisingly present.

You might know something is over, yet your body still reacts as if you're back in that moment. That's one reason trauma work isn't simply about telling yourself to move on or reminding yourself that you're safe now.

EMDR helps people process distressing memories so they can relate to them differently, without those experiences continuing to feel so overwhelming. Healing doesn't mean pretending it never happened. 💛

If you've been curious about EMDR or wondering whether it could be a fit for you, what questions do you have about the process?

We can’t heal you from a system that’s harming you.

Therapy can help you survive it. It can’t lower your rent, your gas or your grocery bill. It can’t lower your premium, refill your prescription or bring back your coverage. It can’t shorten a three month waitlist or convince insurance you’re “sick enough.” It can’t heal you out of racism, sexism, homophobia or any other system built to keep you down.

Therapy (western therapy) was built to help with individual pain. It was never meant to fix systemic harm.

Sometimes, an ADHD diagnosis doesn’t just help you understand your brain. It changes the way you understand your entire life. 🫂

You start connecting the dots between the overwhelm, the perfectionism, the people-pleasing, and the exhaustion you thought everyone else was somehow handling better.

And there can be grief in realizing how long you spent blaming yourself for struggles you didn’t have the language to explain.

If you’re a late-diagnosed woman with ADHD, I hope you’re learning to give yourself the understanding you needed back then, too. You were never just failing at being an adult.

Did your diagnosis change the way you see your past? I’d love to hear your experience in the comments. 💜

The confidence after training hits different.

But the real growth happens when you take what you’ve learned into the therapy room and start recognizing the nuances that make complex trauma work so challenging.

It’s not about having every answer. It’s about building the clinical judgment to know when to move forward, when to slow down, and what your client might need from you in that moment.

if healing feels harder than the thing you’re healing from, read this.

nobody tells you it might feel worse before it feels better. or that peace can feel suspicious. or that you’ll grieve years you didn’t even know you lost.

you’re not broken. you’re in the middle.

Some of the hardest moments in trauma therapy are the ones where the protocol doesn’t tell you exactly what your client needs next.

And that doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re working with a human being whose needs may not fit neatly into a checklist.

Learning to sit with that uncertainty, recognize what’s happening clinically, and make thoughtful decisions is a big part of growing as an EMDR therapist. 💛

You don’t need to know everything. You need the skills to navigate what you don’t know yet.

If you want to build your confidence working with complex trauma clients, comment TRANSFORM and I’ll reach out to you.
