The story goes that when the original owner found the lot this house is on, he called his architect over that morning and waited on site until he arrived. They pulled out a napkin and the design concept emerged. They would build a home that folded into the property, the front of home/approach would screen the view. Once inside - floor to ceiling windows with deliberate horizontal roof overhangs would draw your eye out and frame the stunning view. Living spaces would be defined by built in elements/furniture and some walls were not extended all the way to ceiling to create a sense of mystery/encouraging exploration/a feeling of "what's around the corner". The owner and the architect Phillip Eddy worked together over the years on improvements both inside and out. Though retired, Phil is eager to chat with whoever scoops up this gem.
