🎓 Last weekend, DAPCEP’s Senior Seminar students traveled to western Michigan for an immersive three-day college and STEM tour experience!
Students kicked off their visit at Ferris State University, touring the campus, exploring the College of Engineering, and visiting the Jim Crow Museum for a tour from the museum founder. They also participated in STEM sessions led by university professors across various departments. To experience college life beyond the classroom, students attended a Ferris State football game and had the opportunity to meet members of the football team! 🏈

Along the way, students stopped at Grand Valley State University for an admissions session and tour to learn more about the school. At both universities, students explored scholarship opportunities and resources to help prepare them for their futures.

Our Explorers are bringing fairy tales to life through STEM! From engineering challenges to science experiments, students are creating, building, and testing while developing their problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills.

While our Explorers continue their STEM adventures, we’re keeping the 50th Anniversary celebrations going! This month our team made a special stop at each class this month to surprise students with DAPCEP 50th Anniversary cookies! 🍪💜
It was a sweet way to celebrate 50 years of inspiring young minds and the students who will help shape our next 50 years!

🎓 Happy Learning & Development Month!
To celebrate, we’re highlighting one of our students who is doing amazing things! DAPCEP student Oscar Shelton recently earned his CompTIA certification, building on the skills and experience he gained after completing our GDYT certification class. 💻🏆
Oscar has also taken his passion for technology beyond the classroom. He recently gave a TEDx talk at his school, Cranbrook, where he shared his perspective on AI usage and offloading and explored the ways we interact with technology.
Congratulations Oscar for sharing your ideas with others!
