With this being my last day of college and I reflect on my time here, I’ve grown in countless way—building meaningful friendships, finding my voice, and becoming independent, confident, and grounded in who I am. This HBCU experience became my home away from home, and I’ll forever cherish this era of my life.

As I close this beautiful chapter gracefully, I’m grateful. Coming to Southern was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I beat odds, broke generational curses, became the first second-generation graduate, and even finished early. Moving down south was a challenge, but I persevered. Special thanks to my village and my 1880.

I may not be from Louisiana, but I’m Southern made. I MADE IT!

Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 —
“Two are better than one… if either falls, one can help the other up.”

To Southern University Cheer,

First and foremost, I want to say thank you @southernucheer for giving me the opportunity to experience collegiate cheerleading. You believed in me and gave me the chance to live out a dream that little 3-year-old me could only imagine—and for that, I’m forever grateful. Although my time with you was short, it was so meaningful. From tryouts to move-in day, practices, game days, performances, and appearances—the blood, sweat, and tears were real, and I wouldn’t trade a second of it. Meeting cheer alumni who paved the way and supported me through one of the most challenging years of my life meant so much. Through every high and low, this experience shaped me into a stronger athlete and an even better person.

To the year of 2022–2023, what a ride it has been. I’m so thankful I got to do what I love with such talented, passionate, and driven athletes who share the same love for this sport. Every practice, performance, sideline, and stunt brought us closer—and I’ll always appreciate you for making this experience unforgettable.

TO MY CRAB SIBLINGS, and my very first friends here who I love so much, whew—only the Lord knows the journey we’ve had together. The laughs, the tears, the long nights, and early mornings—we did that. I share a unique bond with each one of you, and I love y’all dearly. I’m so proud of the way you’ve all grown, adjusted, and thrived. Forever 22, no matter where life takes us!

From Allstar to Collegiate: Cheer wasn’t new to me—but doing it in a new place, at a new level, with new expectations? That was scary and It was hard. But I let it make me, not break me. Wearing that uniform one last time meant so much to me. I’ll forever hold cheerleading near and dear to my heart.
