Darna - دارنا - means “our home” in Arabic 🇵🇸

And that’s the spirit behind this one; our second Palestinian supper club.

For one evening, we’re taking over Leo & Roobs and turning it into a Palestinian table - warm, generous, welcoming and full of life.

Expect long communal tables, a beautiful spread of Arabic mezze, a slow-cooked traditional main and a Levantine-inspired sweet to finish.

We’ll be working with a Palestinian chef and the team behind @gladstonebarberandbistro and @therealtartuffe to bring this one to life, so it’s a special one.

And, because food should do more than fill a table, profits from ticket sales will be donated to Eat Well Manchester and Reviving Gaza Mutual Aid.

And that’s a wrap!

Wow… Was that the longest pop-up ever?

That’s right, our time at Side Street has come to an end and our final service here is this Friday.

It’s been an incredible two and a half years cooking for the wonderful people of Manchester and we’re HUGELY thankful to everyone who’s been to see us whilst we’ve been here!

Another big thanks to the staff at Side Street who we’ve loved working with! We’ve made some great friends and worked with some absolutely brilliant people.

We’re going to be having a little bit of a break whilst we plan for Tartuffe part 2.

It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you soon ❤️

Last month's @openfirediningclub saw @phocuekitchen join @therealtartuffe for a Vietnamese menu that took the format somewhere completely different - from lobster congee and a small pour of pho, to shakin’ beef and fried rice over the @biggreenegguk, whole Cumbrian chickens hung over the coals and Hanoi coffee to finish, whilst @campariofficial took care of the drinks.

Next weekend we’re on to a very special finale, closing the season with an all-star service.

On Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, @akin.club, @kallosmcr and Julian Pizer of @portfolio.mcr join Tartuffe for an eight-course closing menu that showcases four very different parts of Manchester’s food scene.

Tickets are still available across the weekend, but Saturday is almost sold out. by @therealtartuffe

Making new friends is hard as an adult, and if you're sober it can feel even harder...

What I've learnt in sobriety is (annoyingly) you have to push through the fear and put yourself out there and when you do, you'll find there are more people like you than you realised.

Thanks to the team at @therealtartuffe for hosting my most recent alcohol-free supper club and to @noughtyaf for the nonalc sparkling rosé welcome drink, DELISH 💕

Modern Vietnamese cooking comes to Open Fire Dining Club this weekend.

You don’t have to work too hard to sell @phocuekitchen to anyone who eats out in Manchester regularly. It’s the kind of place chefs recommend, food writers praise, and regulars quietly keep going back to.

Jay Rayner called it “everything it should be” when he visited in 2021, which is about right. It’s intimate, informal, very good value and usually busy enough to make you feel smug if you’ve managed to get a table without waiting.

The pho is obviously a very good choice. So are the bánh mì. So is most of the menu, to be honest. But this weekend Pho Cue are stepping out of Chinatown and heading to Torr Vale Mill for something a little different.

They’ll be joining @therealtartuffe for a menu that looks at Vietnamese cooking through a few different routes: the French influence that still runs through parts of the cuisine, the traditional use of fire found across Vietnam, and Cue’s more modern approach to Vietnamese food.

@campariofficial are on drinks for this one, with a Campari Spritz on arrival, classic Negronis available from the bar, and a French Negroni served with dessert that sees Cue’s excellent Vietnamese coffee become Hanoi coffee with dulce de leche, chocolate namalake and espresso jelly.
