Didn’t have this on my to-do list, but here we are 🤢☠️

AI might be able to write the contract, but until it can clean out a fridge that smells like something died in it, I think my job is safe. 🙃

Some closings just get you feeling some sort of way. 🤍

A few years ago, a woman named Karen called me to help her sell a condo she owned here in Wisconsin. We successfully closed on that property, and like I do with so many past clients, I stayed in touch over the years through mailers, pop-bys, and Facebook.

Fast-forward to a few months ago, when I received a phone call from Karen’s daughter. She told me that her mom had passed away—and that one of Karen’s final wishes was for her daughter to call me when the time came to sell her primary residence.

That is something I will never forget. I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

Today marks one year since Karen passed away. It also marks the closing of her home—the place where she and her beautiful family shared so many memories. Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to describe it.

I cannot put into words how honored I am that Karen remembered me and trusted me enough to include me in her final wishes.

Real estate is so much more than houses, contracts, and closings. You never truly know the impact you can have on the people you meet along the way—or the impact they can have on you.

These are the clients who become so much more than clients. These are the people and moments that remind me exactly why I love what I do.

Karen was truly one of the kindest women I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting, and I will forever be grateful that our paths crossed. 🤍 by @therealtormikayla
