Many years ago, I created something called the "ridiculously long lunch club". It was a monthly get together. The point was for food and wine people, to share a table; and just talk, and enjoy each others company. My dear friend @richardhards who is now head chef at @10cases reminded me of our first one. --- Hace muchos años, creé algo llamado el "club de almuerzos ridículamente largos". Era una reunión mensual. La idea era que los amantes de la gastronomía y el vino compartieran una mesa, charlaran y disfrutaran de la compañía mutua. It's the middle of Winter in the Andes. This is our forecast in Celsius (for those users of freedom units, you need to make your own conversion) for the next few days. This is not normal. I, honestly, have no idea how this might impact on the vines, as I have never seen this before. by @therealvinosity

I know the photos are not "insta worthy". In 2010, I worked on a wine project in Ukraine. One of the side trips we managed, was a visit to Massandra. It is brutal; it's beautiful. by @therealvinosity

(English below) El lunes celebramos el primer evento conjunto entre @ymaproject_ y yo Cuatro pasos en el maravilloso @cafeepicolapaz -Trucha curada con pan con tomate al estilo boliviano. -Hongos ostra, espinacas, yogur, aceite ahumado y vinagreta picante de maní -Kebabs de jiba al estilo indio sobre naan, con salsa de tomate quemado y cebiche -Granita de jamaica, con gel de carambola, carambola caramalisado y galleta de almendras suave No podemos agradecer lo suficiente a todos los que participaron en el primer evento. Su apoyo fue increíble y agradecemos mucho sus comentarios. Por favor, sigan enviándolos, así es como mejoraremos Esto tampoco habría sido posible sin la maravillosa gente de Épico, que nos ayudó esa noche @titaniac52 @vania._aq @fernandez_ruddy Miguel Fueron unos auténticos rockstars. Esperamos volver a tocar con ustedes. Y muchísimas gracias a @titaniac52 por todas las fotos geniales. No tengo ni idea de cómo las logró mientras corría como loca. Qué talento! Sin la ayuda de @avlasalva esto no habría sido posible. El próximo evento será el lunes 2 de febrero. --- Monday saw the first joint event between myself and @ymaproject_ Four courses at the wonderful @cafeepicolapaz -Cured trout with a Bolivian take on pan con tomate. -Oyster mushrooms, spinach, yoghurt, smoked oil and a spicy peanut vinaigrette. -Indian style jiba kebabs on naan, with a burnt tomato sauce and cebiche. -Hibiscus flower granita, with a star fruit gel, roasted star fruit and a soft almond cookie. We cannot thank, enough, everyone who joined up for the first event. Your support was amazing; and we really appreciate your feedback. Please keep it coming as that's how we will get better. We also could not have done this without the wonderful people at Épico who helped on the night. @titaniac52 @vania._aq @fernandez_ruddy Miguel You were absolute rockstars. We look forward to playing with you again. Also, big thanks to @titaniac52 for all the great photos. Absolutely no idea how she managed those while running around madly. That's a talent! You know I am a nerd for all things aromatic and flavour. Yesterday evening, I had the pleasure of meeting fellow nerds; in the shape of @ghosty.roaster For me, it was a revelatory evening, spending time with two guys who really understand the whole procession of plant to cup. I learnt so much; also about how my craft is so much connected to theirs. They are new. They are young. They will go far. Thank you for the experience. --- Ya saben que soy un apasionado de todo lo aromático y el sabor. Ayer por la noche tuve el placer de conocer a otros apasionados, como @ghosty.roaster. Para mí, fue una noche reveladora, pasar tiempo con dos chicos que realmente entienden todo el proceso, desde la planta hasta la taza. Aprendí muchísimo; también sobre cómo mi oficio está tan conectado con el suyo. Son nuevos. Son jóvenes. Llegarán lejos. Gracias por la experiencia. by @therealvinosity

These two puppies were deliciousl And, given the price point; 55Bs a bottle,from @latintoreriabo they were an absolute bargain. I love that white wines are being taken more seriously in Bolivia. Not all heroes wear capes. I made the (stupid) mistake, of putting a tank on a pallet, and then trying to fill it. Mistakes are always made. But, every time, we need to learn from them. That is the only way we will (as a people) progress; and, hopefully, be better than we have been before. Anyway, moving on from the philosophical, do not put your tanks on cheap pallets; they suck. --- No todos los héroes llevan capa. Cometí el (estúpido) error de poner un tanque en un palé y luego intentar llenarlo. Siempre se cometen errores. Pero, siempre, debemos aprender de ellos. Esa es la única manera en que (como pueblo) progresaremos y, con suerte, seremos mejores que antes. En fin, dejando de lado la filosofía, no pongan sus tanques en palets baratos; son un asco. -- by @therealvinosity
