What does true allyship actually look like?

It looks like organisations willing to listen.
Willing to learn.
Willing to confront uncomfortable truths.
Willing to acknowledge that not all women experience menopause in the same way.

I’m honoured to have been appointed by NHS Royal Berkshire to deliver a keynote session to nurses and healthcare professionals from departments across the hospital on the impact of menopause on Black & Brown women.

This matters.

Because for far too long, Black & Brown women have been overlooked in menopause conversations, overlooked in research, overlooked in healthcare education and too often left to suffer in silence.

True allyship is not performative statements.
It is action.

It is creating spaces where difficult conversations can happen.
It is investing in education.
It is recognising the cultural stigma, medical disparities and systemic barriers that continue to impact Black & Brown women in midlife.

It is understanding that equity in healthcare requires culturally competent education, awareness and support.

This conversation is pivotal.

Not to simply “raise awareness” — but to redefine the conversation.

To challenge the silence.
To challenge the inequities.
To ensure Black & Brown women are finally seen, heard and supported in ways that are relevant, compassionate and informed.

The fact that NHS Royal Berkshire has recognised the importance of this conversation speaks volumes.

This is what progress looks like.

The future of menopause education is not one-size-fits-all.

The future is culturally competent.
The future is inclusive.
The future listens.
The future understands.

And the future is now. I look forward to this conversation.

𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 — 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞.

This year changed everything.

When I made the decision to stand up and speak up for Black women in #menopause, I didn’t know where it would lead. I just knew the silence had gone on for too long.

Since then…

I’ve stood in the House of Commons (heart of UK 🇬🇧 government) speaking truth into spaces where our voices have historically been absent.

I’ve spoken in communities, creating room for honesty, healing and conversations many women had never been invited into before.

I’ve created first-of-its-kind menopause education, centred entirely around Black women’s lived experience — our bodies, our stories, our realities, our history.

I’ve delivered training, challenging systems to finally see, understand and support Black women through #menopause.

And somehow, in the midst of all of that, I was honoured with Best Female Speaker 2025.

But, the wins are for the women who finally felt seen.
The win is for the one who said, “I thought it was just me.”
The win is the shift — from shame to understanding, from silence to advocacy, from surviving to reclaiming power.

And the most amazing part?

We’re only getting started.

There is more work to do. More conversations to open. More lives to impact. More systems to disrupt. More freedom to claim for Black women in midlife and beyond.

2025 was the year I answered the call.
2026 is the year the movement expands.

To every Black woman walking this journey — I see you, I stand with you and I will continue to speak until our experiences are no longer dismissed, ignored or denied.

With purpose. With faith. With fire. 🔥

Happy blessed new year in advance!🎉

What wins did you have in 2025? Let’s talk 🗣️ in comments ⬇️

𝐔𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐬: 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬.

Sometimes speaking up about inequity is uncomfortable. Not just for you, but for those listening.

Your voice may shake. Your heart may race. You may doubt yourself when you catch the expression on people’s faces. Is anyone listening? Does anyone care? Read the room, “oh, she’s talking about race and unfairness again.”

But you must keep speaking up.

I know this, because I almost lost my mental health. I almost lost my life.
Why? Because I had no words to articulate what I was going through. No listening ear to tell me it was okay to talk about it. No voice to whisper, this could be perimenopause. That silence nearly destroyed me.

And that’s why I speak now. Not just for myself, but for the women still suffering in silence. For the women dismissed, ignored, misdiagnosed, gaslit and made to feel invisible.

Because the reality is this:
• Around 27% of Black women experience significant depressive symptoms during menopause.

• Black African and South Asian women in England are almost 80% less likely to receive Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) compared to White women.

• In one large UK dataset, only 5.2% of Black women aged 45-55 were on HRT, compared to 23.3% of White women.

So I keep speaking up, as long as we continue to have statistics that show such stark gaps in inclusion, diagnosis, support and treatment. My voice will not be silenced.

Yes—-progress has been made, but these numbers make it painfully clear how far we still have to go in breaking stigma, improving representation in research and changing healthcare outcomes for Black and Global majority women.

So even if your voice trembles… even if it feels uncomfortable or even hostile at times…don’t stop speaking up.

Because your voice might just be the beacon of light someone else has been praying or hoping for.

What’s your take on menopause healthcare equity? What’s your experience? Let’s talk 🗣️ in the comments ⬇️

𝐈’𝐦 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.🎉🇬🇧

I’m honoured to be invited by Healthcare Leader Prof. Dr. Juliet Hammond the Founder and Director of the Mount Moriah Foundation, to speak at the 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 in Kensington on Saturday 31 October.

I’ll be speaking on menopause and the Black & Brown woman’s experience — bringing the latest UK evidence into a conversation that remains central to my work in menopause equity.

The menopause conversation has grown.

But the equity gap remains.

My work continues to ensure that Black and Brown women are seen, heard and represented in the conversations shaping menopause education, workplace support and women’s health.

I’m looking forward to joining an incredible room of leaders, entrepreneurs, corporate professionals and changemakers across industries.

This is more than visibility.

It’s influence. It’s representation. It’s impact.

If you would like to attend the Mount Moriah Awards, The Relentless Boss™ has a limited number of ticket concessions available. DM me directly for details.

𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞, 𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞.

We were commissioned by Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a menopause education session for senior leaders and employees, providing evidence-based insights into menopause, its impact on women in the workplace and the practical steps organisations can take to create a more informed and supportive working environment for both employees and patients.

But the conversation extends far beyond healthcare.

UK research has found:

↳ 67% of working women experiencing menopause symptoms report a mostly negative impact on their work.

↳ 27% say menopause has negatively affected their career progression, representing an estimated 1.2 million women.

↳ 17% have considered leaving employment altogether due to a lack of workplace support.

(Source: CIPD, Menopause in the Workplace, 2023.)

Behind these figures are experienced professionals, leaders and valuable talent whose contributions organisations cannot afford to overlook. When businesses fail to understand menopause, the consequences can extend to productivity, employee confidence, retention and the loss of institutional knowledge.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲? 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Equipping managers with the knowledge to have informed conversations, creating supportive workplace cultures and helping women navigate this transition with confidence are not simply acts of compassion. They are investments in people and organisational performance.

The key is providing Black & Brown woman-centred menopause education and training to organisations, equipping employees, managers and leaders with the knowledge and confidence to better support women through menopause at work.

We offer certified training, 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤: 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 & 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, helps organisations address cultural stigma, strengthen understanding and create more inclusive workplaces.

I’ve been offline for a minute because, quite frankly…

#perimenopause has been PERIMENOPAUSING. 🤷🏾‍♀️😂

And let me tell you…she is very DISRESPECTFUL. 🙄

The memory lapses.
The forgetfulness.
The brain fog.
The anxiety.
The low energy.
The low mood.
The days when you genuinely wonder, “Is it just me, or am I losing my mind?” 🤯

And somehow, in the middle of all of that, life is still expecting you to SHOW UP.

Work.
Family.
Business.
Relationships.
Responsibilities.
Life be LIFEING. 😩

Midlife women are navigating THE greatest hormonal, reproductive and neurological transitional SHIFT that will alter us FOREVER — while still being expected to function as though nothing has or is changing.

And that’s the part we don’t talk about enough.

We may make perimenopause LOOK like light work…

But trust me, some days, the fact that we got dressed, showed up, smiled and kept going?

THAT is the miracle. 🙌🏾

Some days you win.
Some days you lose.
And some days you simply make it through.

This picture was taken on one of my winning days — celebrating my cousin Augustina and her groom Emmanuel at their beautiful traditional wedding 🇬🇭❤️

And honestly?

I know that every day I’m able to keep showing up, keep building, keep loving, keep laughing and keep moving forward…

It is only by His grace. ☝🏾🙌🏾

So, to every woman navigating this season quietly:

You are not imagining it.
You are not weak.
You are not left behind.
And you are certainly not alone.

We’re going to talk about this.
We’re going to learn about this.
And we’re going to navigate midlife with our eyes open and STILL looking, feeling & being FABULOUS DARLING.🎀👑💃🏾🙌🏾👌🏾👏🏾

𝐈 𝐀𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐟 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞. 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐝 ‘𝐘𝐞𝐬.’ 🇬🇭

Moments like this remind me why I refuse to give up.

Last weekend, more than 100 Women of Action members from Action Chapel International Ghana 🇬🇭 came together for a live webinar titled: “𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞: 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 & 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧.”

Hosted by Senior Leader Rev. Mrs. Christine Ocansey, Prof. Dr. Mary Obodai, Genevieve Anum, Doris Ahiati, the Women of Action (WoA) Ghana team, and expertly moderated by Rev. Dr. Ainuson-Quampah, the event was nothing short of inspiring.

Over 100 women showed up in force to change the narrative on menopause and to open up a conversation that, for far too long, has been whispered about or ignored altogether.

Watching African women engage so openly, ask thoughtful questions and share in this important dialogue filled me with immense pride in my African heritage.

What almost ended my life has now become the catalyst for change and transformation for Black and Brown women—not only in the UK, but now here on the continent of Africa, in #Ghana

That is both humbling and deeply meaningful.

During the session, I spoke about the impact culture can have on the menopause experience across Africa, the realities of #perimenopause and menopause, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and symptoms including low libido, depression, anxiety, brain fog, and insomnia and the impact of declining hormones on a woman’s brain. Most importantly, we discussed the urgent need for Ghanaian women to receive the healthcare, information and support they deserve.

Before I began this journey of delivering talks in Ghana, I kept asking myself one question:

“Are African women ready to have this conversation?”

More than 100 women answered with a resounding: “Yes, we are.”

Not just with their words, but by showing up and engaging wholeheartedly.

The conversation has started.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐈𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞?

Imagine if men woke up one day and, for years, experienced insomnia, anxiety, brain fog, exhaustion, joint pain, low libido, hot flushes, mood swings, memory lapses and loss of confidence—all because of a natural stage of life.

Would we still dismiss it as “just getting older”?

Would workplaces ignore it?

Would healthcare leave them searching for answers?

Menopause isn’t “just hot flushes.” It’s a significant biological transition that affects millions of women, yet it’s still misunderstood, under-researched and often trivialised.

It’s time we stopped expecting women to simply “get on with it” and started treating menopause with the understanding and support it deserves.

I’M I N G H A N A 🇬🇭

For too long, menopause has been treated as a private issue.

In reality, it’s a workplace issue.
A leadership issue.
A wellbeing issue.
A business issue.
A community issue.

I’m currently in Ghana 🇬🇭and available to partner with forward-thinking organisations and community groups ready to support their female members and employees through evidence-based, culturally responsive #menopause education.

As an Award-Winning Speaker, Menopause Educator and Advocate, I’m here to engage, thought-provoking conversations that challenge stigma, spark meaningful discourse and equip organisations and community groups with practical strategies for change.

When women thrive, workplaces thrive, communities thrive.

If your organisation, community, conference or leadership team is ready to start the menopause conversation, let’s connect.

And IG, need your help. If you know a company, government agency, NGO, university, church, professional association or community group in Ghana 🇬🇭 that would benefit from this conversation, tag them in the comments ⬇️

or share ♻️ this post with them.

Together, we can ensure more women are seen, heard and supported in this transition.

Let’s make change together! 🔥

𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐈𝐧 𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 🇬🇭: 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐦𝐚, 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧.

🇬🇭 Menopause Is Happening In #Ghana. The Question Is: Are We Talking About It? I am currently in Ghana and honoured to have been appointed by Visionary Kwasi Tabury CEO of @myhealthcop to deliver a webinar on:

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡.

#Menopause has remained hidden behind cultural silence, stigma and misunderstanding—not only in Ghana 🇬🇭 but across much of Africa.

Many women have been taught to endure symptoms in silence. Some believe what they are experiencing is simply “part of getting older.” Others are told to be strong, pray about it or keep it to themselves.

Menopause affects far more than physical health.

It affects:
↳ Confidence
↳ Mental wellbeing
↳ Relationships
↳ Productivity
↳ Workplace performance
↳ Quality of life

And for Black & Brown women, the conversation must also include culture, lived experience, representation and health equity.
As a Menopause Educator and Advocate, my goal is not simply to educate women about symptoms.

It is to help change the narrative.

To create spaces where women can ask questions without shame.
To encourage earlier conversations.
To improve awareness among healthcare professionals, employers, families and communities. And to ensure that Black & Brown women see themselves reflected in menopause education, healthcare and support.

Across Africa, women are increasingly speaking up, building communities, raising awareness and challenging long-standing stigma surrounding menopause.

No woman should have to suffer in silence simply because nobody ever told her what menopause was. The more we talk, the more we understand. The more we understand, the better we can support women through one of the most transformational phases of life.
