I absolutely love the vibe of Rob Bowyer's (@massiveface) work. He has this brilliant way of mixing heavy, dark, textured inking with striking neon accents, often using glowing crosses or bright red eyes. Beyond the pure aesthetic which perfectly bridges cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic, and dark fantasy, what really makes it click is the unexpected vulnerability. His macabre figures and skeletons actually feel incredibly human, tired, or lost in thought.

Before Heavy Metal there was Metal Hurlant.

Launched in Paris in 1975 by Moebius, Philippe Druillet, Jean-Pierre Dionnet and Bernard Farkas, this magazine changed what comics and science fiction could look like. Today it lives on and its covers still bring together legends and new voices of French and international illustration.

✦ This is the work of Marcel Deneuve, an artist, concept designer and writer who has painted covers for Clarkesworld, one of the most respected sci-fi magazines out there. And you can feel the writer in him. These don't look like random buildings. They look like pieces of a world with its own history: Section 04. Capsule docks. Scan control. Someone clearly knows how this place works.

My favorite detail: the desert one. Look at the bottom right. A tiny caravan of camels, walking under a spaceship the size of a city.

✦ Swipe through once, then go back and count the tiny explorers. How many did you find?

Those little glowing helmets, usually traveling in pairs, standing in front of cities way too big to understand. They're in almost every piece, and once you spot them, you can't stop looking.

This is Reza Afshar, an Iranian concept artist painting worlds for games, film and animation since 2012.

He starts his personal pieces in grayscale: big brushstrokes, rough shapes, twisted and reshaped until the image appears. Then comes the color. Blue and gold. Teal and pink. Orange and black. Two or three colors, and suddenly each planet has its own temperature.

Some pieces are loose, fast sketches. Others are packed with thousands of tiny lines. Same worlds, two moods. If you love the sketchy side, he has a whole account for it: @rezsketches
