Today, on National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, we recognize the resilience, strength, and contributions of gay and bisexual men living with HIV while honoring those we have lost.

Ending the HIV epidemic means breaking down stigma, expanding access to prevention, testing, and treatment, and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to live and thrive with dignity.

HIV does not define a person, and U=U: Undetectable = Untransmittable. Together, we can build a future rooted in education, equity, love, and community. ❤️

Aging with HIV can take on many forms because individuals aging with HIV are multifaceted and multidimensional beings, each with unique experiences and perspectives. 🌎💫

This year at #USCHA2026, we asked long-term survivors what aging with HIV meant to them. In a nutshell, aging with HIV as a community, we are “thriving, at peace, thriving and grateful to God, healing, blessed, emotional, persevering, enough, fierce and unstoppable, and absolutely relentless.”

Long-term survivors of HIV can never and will never be reduced to a single word or phrase. We will continue adding to our archive of powerful and meaningful descriptors that offer a glimpse into just how incredible this community is.

The Reunion Project is committed to uplifting these stories and experiences throughout every aspect of our work.

The work continues, nonetheless. But today, we celebrate the strength and love of our aging community while holding space in remembrance of those who were not given the opportunity to age alongside us.

Perhaps the best word to commemorate National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day is LOVE.

And that, our community has plenty of. ❤️

Today is Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

In 2024, the South accounted for 51% of new HIV diagnoses in the United States, despite representing only about 38% of the country’s population. This disproportionate impact is driven by systemic barriers—including limited access to healthcare, fewer HIV specialists in rural communities, poverty, lack of transportation, stigma, and discrimination.

Everyone deserves access to HIV testing, PrEP, compassionate treatment, and the support needed to thrive. By addressing these barriers, we can end HIV-related inequities and build healthier Southern communities. ❤️

Today is #ZeroHIVStigmaDay

Stigma remains one of the biggest barriers to HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and care—but together, we can change that.

Ending HIV stigma isn't only the responsibility of people living with HIV. It takes all of us to challenge misinformation, speak up against discrimination, and create communities where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

📚 Learn the facts.
🗣️ Challenge stigma when you hear it.
❤️ Lead with compassion.

Because when we replace fear with understanding, we move closer to ending the HIV epidemic.

Together, we can build a future free from HIV stigma.

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth—a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, strength, and contributions of Black communities throughout history.

As an organization dedicated to connecting and uplifting people living and aging with HIV, The Reunion Project recognizes that the fight for racial justice and the fight for health equity are deeply intertwined. Black communities have long been at the forefront of movements for justice, advocacy, and HIV activism, while continuing to face disproportionate barriers to healthcare, housing, economic opportunity, and HIV care.

Juneteenth is both a celebration and a call to action. It reminds us that freedom is not a single moment in history—it is an ongoing commitment to equity, dignity, and justice for all.

"I was diagnosed in September of 1993 at the age of 43.
