We are super excited to partner up with @erbaverdefarms and @cuveeimports for a French farm dinner Sunday, June 28th at Erba Verde Farm in East Aurora.

Chef Nick Einstman and team will be preparing a 7 course tasting menu based on the 5 French mother sauces of the French culinary canon.

Eric Frick from Cuvée Imports will hand select delicious wine pairings from his French portfolio of wines.

Amy Green of @ethylwine will be taking orders should you want to purchase any bottles for the summer.

We’ll be featuring local meat from @erbaverdefarms and the summer bounty of @therootdownfarm.

Tickets are available through @erbaverdefarms as well as a QR code on our website.

Hope to see you for this special evening. Salut! 🥂 by @therootdownfarm

How did 2 first generation farmers ever start a farm business with no land and no money? We were quite ambitious and a little crazy. I can't believe this year is marking our 15th year farm anniversary.
We started Root Down Farm in 2011 on land we leased from a farmer who was scaling back. We spent 3 years on his land and using his equipment before finding our current location 2 miles away.
Our 4th year was the year we really invested in our own equipment and fully moved to our current location.
We spent 4+ years learning how to farm from farmers all over the Northeast prior to moving to WNY and starting on our own. We got married in the Fall of our 1st year on the property we were leasing at the time.
By our 7th season we were able to purchase the farmhouse, the barn, and the 5 acres surrounding them. We put a new roof on the barn that year and have leased the majority of our vegetable ground from the farm family ever since.
We now feed 300 families, support local grocers, restaurants, other farm markets, and 2 food pantries.
Sometimes I look back and have no idea how we ever did what we did. Other times I can't believe we've been doing this on our own for 15 years! Thanks to the literal village that has supported us through it all. Here's to our 16th season! by @therootdownfarm
