Ask yourselves: what does it mean to be steadfast? What comes to mind when you hear this word. Is steadfastness a divine power? Or is it simply the refusal to abandon your home, family, identity, life - even when every day demands more than any person should ever have to give? The Palestinians in Northern Gaza have endured unimaginable hardship. The razing of their surroundings. They walk long distances under the relentless summer sun, wait for hours, and risk their lives for something as basic as safe drinking water. We call them steadfast - and of course they are. But steadfastness should never become an excuse for the rest of the world to stand back and simply admire their endurance. Respect without support changes nothing!! Help The Sameer Project provide clean drinking water to families who have chosen to remain STEADFAST on their land despite the danger. Joy is rare in Gaza but today is a joyous day across the Strip when the results of tawjihi (high school students) were announced! This video was taken today, July 24th, showing the celebration of a young girl Fula who passed her Tawjihi and got 89.3%. Despite the pain of the martyrdom of her father, the loss of her home and experiencing multiple displacements, Fula managed to make her family proud and get high grades. Fula’s father, Thabet Abu Riash, may not be with her physically but he is witnessing her joy on this day. The Quran says “And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah, ‘They are dead.’ Rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not” (154:2). Well done Fula, baba is proud of you, and so are we! Keep supporting Gaza through our General Fund. by @thesameerproject

The Sameer Project team found beekeepers in the least expected place: Jabalia Camp! While distributing food, The Sameer Project team found this beautiful Palestinian couple with their beehives. They literally saved them from under the rubble, and slowly the beehives started to come back to life. With no income, the couple is not able to sustain their project or buy sugar and other equipment. For the beehives to be sustained, The Sameer Project plans to buy: sugar, 2 new boxes, 10 frames, wax, a tarp, flashlight and bee medicine. This family in Jabalia, close to the danger and the yellow area, holds on to hope. Let’s help fund this hopeful project and provide them with what they need. See these kid? They do whatever it takes to search for clean water and bring it home for their families to survive. For themselves to get through another day. But there is still not enough. The heat in Gaza has become so unbearable that parents say their children are being cooked inside pressure cookers - aka the tents. Others compare them to eggs inside an incubator. Shelters turn to ovens. The very least we can do is help ensure they have a constant, uninterrupted supply of clean water. Sadly, that has become increasingly difficult because of declining donations. A donation aids in another day of survival. Your donation for water could save a life. There was a time when the meals we served in Gaza included meat, chicken, kofta, liver, and other much-needed sources of protein. Families looked forward to them because they offered more than calories - they offered nourishment, strength, and a brief sense of normalcy after years in deprivation, and in famine. But now, that is no longer possible. Because funding has fallen so sharply, The Sameer Project kitchen is only able to cook half as many days each week, and on those days we serve only half the number of meals we once did. Every reduction means more parents wondering how they will feed their children, and more families going to sleep hungry. On July 4, The Sameer Project provided 386 servings of rice and minced meat meals to displaced families in Al-Sarraj Camp. The entire distribution cost $1,159 after 11% commission fees. The need has never been greater. Gaza is facing catastrophic food insecurity, yet we are being forced to scale back when we should be expanding. Help us return to full capacity. Little Yasmine is struggling to carry a jerrycan back to her tent (although she denies struggling 🥹). A painful sight caught during one of our water distributions at The Sameer Project. This snippet is a reality for tens of thousands of kids in Gaza who spend hours queuing every morning to get one or two jerrycans. This is NOT what children should be doing. They should be in school drawing, coloring, dancing and dreaming … Water distributions are our highest cost at The Sameer Project at around $5,000 daily. For that amount we give out around 430,000 liters of fresh water across different parts of the Gaza Strip. How much can one mother lose? Parts of her physical being, parts of her heart and her soul. In April 2025, an attack on her family's tent by the occupation changed Tahani's life forever. She survived with devastating injuries. She lost her left eye and now struggles to move, living each day in physical pain while waiting for the chance to receive medical treatment abroad. But those are not the deepest wounds she carries, by far. She also lost her three children. They were martyred in the same attack. Now, Tahani needs basic items and medications that could aid in her physical recovery, though we know we are limited to do much else to ease her pain. The Sameer Project use to respond immediately to appeals like hers. Today, the lack of donations means we are forced to make impossible decisions about who receives help and who must wait. No mother who has already lost so much should have to wait!! Please help us return to families like Tahani's. Tawjihi (high school) students were studying this summer for exams with gunfire in the background. They’ve been studying like this for three years now. How is this acceptable? Marah lives in Beit Lahia near the yellow line and spends hours studying to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor. In her area, there’s no electricity or internet so students have to do their exams in cafes in the heat and with loud sounds around them. The Sameer Project provided 270 boxes of juice, 288 chocolate bars and 100 pens for $360 (+11% commission). Education is integral to people in Palestine. We view it as a weapon for liberation and a mechanism of our survival. So despite the three years of ongoing genocide, students keep going in Gaza and The Sameer Project will always be by their side. It is scorching hot in Gaza with a heat wave hitting these days reaching 34 degrees Celsius/ 93 Fahrenheit. The heatwave in Gaza knows no rest. People still have to queue for hours to get water and walk for long distances. Every water video we post, our hearts break, and we post a LOT of water videos. The amount we post is a reflection of the magnitude of the problem. Camp managers literally tell us that people would die from dehydration or people will leave the area if our water trucks stop. Every penny you donate for water is a drop of water for a displaced family. The clean water provided by The Sameer Project is checked regularly by our quality team to ensure that the salinity is appropriate. This woman is one of thousands struggling everyday to get water. Nine to five buses! The Sameer Project stopped four free buses in Gaza due to lack of funds and now we only run five. We are hoping with your support that we can keep running the five buses as well. The Sameer Project provides this service for people to have more mobility and go to work or to hospitals. Transport is a HUGE issue in Gaza and this is why this initiative is probably a favorite for people. We truly don’t want to stop this service but we need your help to maintain it. It’s really hot in Gaza 🥵 So something as simple as a haircut can be a relief in the scorching heat. The Sameer Project did a barber day in Fares Camp, Tal Al Hawa, North Gaza. The barbers served around 200 boys in the camp for only $182. This includes the 11% commission. Gestures like this mean a lot for people because even a haircut in Gaza is not affordable to so many people. For only $182, you can bring joy to 200 faces!
