🚨SHOCKING | De*d Monkey found inside water tank of a hostel at Assam’s Engineering College;

[⚠️Trigger-Warning: Graphic, Sensitive Content]

👇: Read more

In a shocking incident reported from Assam Engineering College (AEC), a de*d monkey was reportedly found inside a water tank at Hostel No. 7.

The discovery came after students complained of an unusual smell coming from the water supply.

More than 50 students fell ill after consuming and using the contaminated water for their daily needs. The same water was allegedly used for cooking at the hostel mess.

The affected students were admitted to Jalukbari Ayurvedic College Hospital, with several requiring saline drips as part of their treatment.

Reportedly, the monkey’s b*dy had remained inside the tank for nearly a week, while students had continued using the water since Durga Puja.

The Hostel Superintendent promptly reverted to the students’ complaint and ensured that the tank has been cleaned later.

These cases raise serious concerns about the safety and hygiene mainteinance of water storage facilities at the college’s hostels.

🚨SUNIDHI CHAUHAN CONTROVERSY | This is completely unnecessary;

👇: Read more

After Sunidhi Chauhan’s Guwahati concert, two claims dominate: she performed semi-n*de and insulted the Assamese Gamusa.

Those who attended returned home satisfied; she did too. Yet non-attendees have spent days arguing online.

Assam once echoed with g*nf*re and bl*sts. Today, loudspeakers carry world-class singers. A concert is a paid experience, not a free Bihu function; equating the two is misguided.

At 43, Sunidhi delivered a power-packed set, reimagining iconic Bollywood tracks from the 6:30–7 AM 9XM/MTV era with fresh intensity. Hosting her “I Am Home” tour finale in Guwahati is a point of pride.

Major acts - Guns N’ Roses, Gorillaz, Shreya Ghoshal, Mohit Chauhan - are coming.

Greet Assam’s cultural progress with sense, not baseless controversy.

From conflict to concerts, this is a transforming Assam.

On November 1, a massive eviction drive got underway in Assam’s Dhubri district, with the District Administration targeting over 600 bighas of Government land in the Alamganj Ninth Block area near the Dhubri-Kokrajhar district border.

Around 800 families allegedly occupying the land illegally are expected to be affected, with the targeted area also reported to span approximately 550 bighas.

The operation began early in the morning under heavy security arrangements, with more than 60 excavators deployed and a large contingent of police personnel stationed across the area to maintain law and order.

👇🏼: Read more

On October 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the Northern Corridor of the Delhi-Varanasi-Guwahati bullet train project, paving the way for high-speed rail connectivity between Guwahati and the national capital, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced in Varanasi.

The proposed corridor will begin in Delhi and connect Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow and Ayodhya before extending to Varanasi, Patna, Siliguri and Guwahati.

The project is expected to strengthen connectivity between Assam and major cities across northern India, significantly reducing travel time and providing an alternative to air travel.

The proposed bullet trains will operate at speeds of up to 320 kmph and feature modern facilities, including wheelchair spaces, breastfeeding rooms, comfortable seating and larger washrooms.

An earthquake warning system based on Japanese technology will also be installed. It will automatically cut off the power supply and activate emergency brakes if an earthquake is detected.

👇: Read more

On October 30, 2026, Assam Police detained 36 suspected Bangladeshi nationals at Jogamaya Ferry Ghat in Dhubri district after intelligence pointed to illegal riverine entry.

The men, aged about 30-50, arrived by boat from Hatsingimari; of roughly 120 passengers, screening identified the group from Chapai Nawabganj in Bangladesh’s Rajshahi Division.

Preliminary questioning showed they paid middlemen Rs 14,000–17,000 each to cross and planned to use Dhubri as a transit point en route to Chennai for work.

SSP Debashish Bora confirmed all detainees were Bangladeshi nationals with no Indians among them.

Police are examining documents, phones, routes.

🚨SHOCKING | Bhutan’s glacial lake outburst causes severe flood; flood alert in Assam, West Bengal;

👇🏻: Read More

On October 29, a sudden glacial lake outburst at Shintaphu Lake in northwestern Bhutan triggered flash-flood warnings, putting parts of Assam and West Bengal on alert.

The flood occurred on Thursday evening, releasing an estimated 7.4 million cubic metres of water from the lake in Bhutan’s Mo Chhu sub-basin.

The sudden surge completely washed away facilities at Gasa Tshachu, a popular natural hot spring near the Mo Chhu River. No casualties have been reported, as the area was evacuated in advance.

Following the incident, authorities issued flood alerts for downstream areas, including parts of Assam and West Bengal, over the possibility of rising water levels.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday that the state government was closely monitoring the situation.

Vulnerable revenue circles in Dhubri and Kokrajhar districts have been placed under watch.

Shintaphu is among Bhutan’s 17 glacial lakes identified as potentially dangerous.

The Gasa Tshachu hot spring complex had also been destroyed by a major flash flood in August 2021, when the swollen Mo Chhu changed its course.

Authorities continue to monitor the possible downstream impact.

🚨🚨DISTORTED ASSAM BIHU | Outrage Erupts Over ‘Distorted’ Bihu Performance Featuring Inaccurate Choreography;

Severe public backlash have erupted across social media platforms following a recent stage performance prensenting the traditional ‘Bihu dance’ of Assam in a distorted manner.

Dancers were seen performing to Assamese music while wearing traditional Odia attire and ornaments, with completely inaccurate choreography.

The Internet is angry for the substitution of authentic Assamese folk garments, such as the Muga Silk Mekhela Chador, Gamosa, and Dhoti.

🚨ALERT | Glacial Lake Burst in Bhutan alerts Lower Assam of flood possibilities;

👇: Read more

Assam authorities have been urged to remain on high alert following a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) in neighbouring Bhutan that could impact water levels in the Sankosh River system.

The incident, reported on Thursday evening, involved Shintaphu (also referred to as Sintaphu or Lemthang) Lake in Bhutan’s Gasa district, located in the upper reaches of the Mo Chhu river basin.

Overflowing waters are flowing downstream toward the Sankosh River, which enters India through northern West Bengal before adjoining areas of Assam.

Bhutan’s National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology has confirmed the event, activated sirens along the Mo Chhu, and informed Indian authorities.

While West Bengal districts such as Alipurduar and Cooch Behar have already issued evacuation advisories for residents living along the Sankosh, Assam’s border districts face similar risks of sudden rises in water levels that could threaten riverside settlements, farmland, and infrastructure.

Officials are closely monitoring river gauges, and residents in low-lying areas of Assam have been advised to stay vigilant, follow official updates, and be prepared to move to safer locations if water levels rise.

No major casualties have been reported so far, but the full volume of water released is still being assessed.

The episode once again highlights the growing threat of GLOFs in the Himalayan region due to climate change and the need for coordinated transboundary preparedness between India and Bhutan.
