Do you ever think about fate? The idea that the universe has already written out your ending and is just waiting for you to get there? DYING ON TUESDAY, a new darkly comic fiction podcast, takes that feeling of dread and turns it into comedy.

The seven-part series launches today with “Wednesday”, the first episode. New episodes are releasing over the next seven weeks on Tuesdays.

What’s it about???
It’s 1989, and John is an unscrupulous waterbed salesman sleeping through life… until he meets Claire, a beautiful psychic, at a tarot party hosted by his sister Mary. Claire draws seven cards and predicts John will suffer seven absurd events over the next seven days, culminating in a death sentence: he will die on the seventh day (Tuesday).

John, of course, doesn’t believe in “psychic stuff.” That is until Claire’s predictions start coming true,  forcing him to face some hard questions. Can you cheat your fate? Are there worse things than death?

The series unfolds one day at a time. Each episode is both a chapter and a countdown.

Who made it???
DYING ON TUESDAY was created, written, produced, edited, and voiced by Bill Keenan. It’s Bill’s first fiction podcast. He’s a Second City Touring Company alum who moved into advertising, where he created “It was a rainy day in Pizzaville,” the longest-running campaign in Canadian advertising history. He wrote, produced, and directed the award-winning short The Homework Bureau, which premiered at TIFF, then went on to write, produce, and direct Eating Buccaneers, a feature film nominated for five Canadian Comedy Awards, including Best Writer for Bill.

Where do I find it???
Episode one, “Wednesday,” is out now on all podcast apps!

STANLAND

Narnia meets Ocean City, Maryland.

A year ago, the @thesonarnetwork put out a five-part comedy series I co-wrote with @sgwilson_earth1 featuring a cast of incredible comedic talent, including @bibbymoynihan, @rheaseehorn, @timmysharp, Steve Little, @jon_hamm @john_waters_divine_trash_page, @imlaurenadams, Kevin Brown (the voice of the Orioles) and many others, including the “Energy Vampire” from “What We Do in the Shadows,” Mark Proksch.

StanLand is about a formerly magical fantasy land called Zyngia, now overrun with fast food restaurants, vape shops, big box stores, and other miracles of the modern age. In charge of it all is a hedge fund ruled by a ruthless executive (played by Jon Hamm) and his assistant, Winky (played by John Waters). The national anthem is Aerosmith’s “Love in an Elevator.”

Since the script was written a few years ago, it seems that Earth, much like Zyngia, has become nothing more than a giant hedge fund conglomerate in which nothing else matters, except for producing riches for the very few. Sad. All of it.

Stanland went on to be nominated for Best Comedy Narrative at the Tribeca 2025 festival; nominated for a 2025 Ambie award for Best Fiction Podcast; and winning a Gold in Scripted Fiction at the 2025 Signal Awards.

It’s now being pitched to Hollywood as an animated TV show.

In a few months, Sonar will be releasing a brand-new five-part audio series that I wrote to star Chris Elliott and @bridey_elliott about a former white rap star from the early 1990s who decides to give it another go with his daughter acting as his manager. This, too, will star an all-star cast of comedians and actors, many from StanLand. It’s called “The Return of Sno Topp.”

In the meantime, if you haven’t yet heard Stanland, would you give it a listen? It’s free! I think you’ll like it.

And if you don’t? Well ... it’s free …

Love

Mike

New episode tomorrow!!

SpongeBob, Sasquatch, and Ogopogo!

Bigfoot Babysitters & Canada’s Water Dragon!!!

In this delightfully bizarre episode, the Unexplainers return from a short hiatus to tackle two cryptozoological case studies with their trademark mix of skepticism and silliness. First, they dive into a wild Bigfoot tale from Angelo Ramsey’s Bigfoot Did What?, featuring a Kentucky man, a broken-down car, a “hairy toddler” in a tree, and an elderly woman who casually babysits a family of Sasquatch that love muffins and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Then Rhys shifts to Canada’s own Loch Ness–style legend: Ogopogo of British Columbia’s Okanagan Lake. The duo unpack a 2022 photo of a strange horned shape in the water, debating whether it’s a lake monster, an upside‑down duck, a rogue dragon‑boat ornament, a decapitated moose head, or the result of an extremely unwholesome magical mishap. Along the way, they riff on grief hoaxes, paranormal coping mechanisms, and the basic “science” of goldfish turning into lake monsters. by @thesonarnetwork

once you sign with an agent, this stops being just a dream, it becomes a business.

in this clip, Warren Belle @henharptalent talks about the reality of becoming a professional actor and why actors need to start treating their craft, training, and career with that level of seriousness.

one thing i really loved from this conversation was hearing him say, “i’m here to help you.” agents have the tools, guidance, and industry knowledge to help actors grow, but it’s also up to the actor to put in the work, train consistently, and be ready for the opportunities when they come.

such an important conversation about the business side of acting 🫶
