POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
🚨 Every single client I've worked with this year has generated either leads or sales within 10 days.

Before anyone reports me to the marketing police, no, that's not because I have some secret Meta Ads button.

It's usually because we sort the boring stuff first.

✔ Tracking
✔ Creative
✔ Offer
✔ Campaign objective

Most businesses have a setup problem.

I've lost count of the number of accounts I've looked at where money was being spent but nobody could confidently answer one simple question:

""What's actually working?""

The good news?

Once the foundations are right, results often come much faster than people expect.

What's your biggest frustration with ads right now?

🎄 Nobody likes hearing the C-word in July.

Christmas.

There. I said it.

If Christmas is important to your business, now is exactly when you should be thinking about it.

Not in October.
Not in November.
Definitely not in December.

The businesses that have great Christmas campaigns are building audiences right now.

They're testing creative.
Learning what works.
Growing their email lists.

They're not crossing their fingers and hoping for the best in November.

Too early?

Or secretly relieved someone brought it up?

🐶 Meet Rocky.

Chief Barketing Officer.
Head of Security.
Professional Treat Tester.

If my dog Rocky was a client, he'd be my most demanding one.

He expects immediate responses.

Regular snacks.

Unlimited attention.

And absolutely no delays to service.

To be fair, some marketing clients have similar expectations

Happy International Dog Day! Let's see your top dog 👇

☀️ A little reminder for business owners...

Just because it's summer doesn't mean your marketing should disappear.

In fact, summer can be one of the best times to build audiences, test creative and get ahead of competitors who have switched off.

The businesses that have a great Christmas usually start preparing long before Christmas arrives.

What are you working on this summer?

I've built my home I can build your ad campaigns

Building a house and building a successful ad campaign have similarities.

Everyone gets excited about the pretty bits.

The wall colours.

The kitchen.

The finishing touches.

But what really matters is underneath.

The foundations.

In houses it's structure. In marketing it's data, offers and strategy.

Get either wrong and things become expensive very quickly.

What's the biggest project you've ever taken on?

I've always loved adverts.

When I was young, I recorded radio ads and pretended to be in TV ads 🙈 .

Not much has changed.

I still stop for a good TV advert, I love cinema ads and I can't pick up a magazine without seeing who's advertising.

Now social media gives me hundreds more to look at.

After 25+ years in advertising, I've decided to share the things I notice.

The first of the new, improved, edition of 'The List' goes out tomorrow with what's catching my eye, ideas worth testing and a few things I think every business running ads should know.

...and I've got a Brucey Bonus for everyone on The List too.

I'd love you to join us ❤️

Happy Yorkshire Day.🤍

As a proud Yorkshire business owner, I appreciate three things:

✔ Straight talking
 ✔ Good value
 ✔ A proper brew

Probably why I get on so well with other Yorkshire business owners too.

No BS.
Just decent people trying to do a good job.

What's the most Yorkshire thing about you? 🤍

Happy World emoji Day! This my last month in emojis

Now I need a nap!

Running a business is often sold as freedom. Some weeks it feels more like spinning 300,717 plates. Still, I wouldn't swap it.

Your turn. Let' see your last month in emojis 👇

If you doubled your ad budget tomorrow, would your current campaigns actually perform any better?

🎾 Did you know I once went to Wimbledon and ended up sitting next to Daley Thompson?

Back in another life, when I was a Media Consultant at Nestlé looking after their chocolate brands, I was invited to Wimbledon for a corporate hospitality day.

After a mad rush down from York, arriving late and slightly flustered, I finally found my seat, sat down and grabbed a drink.

And who should sit next to me but Daley Thompson.

As a child in the 80's and massive Olympics fan, I was completely starstruck.

As one of Britain's greatest athletes, his stories were incredible.

The training, the competitions, the people he'd met and the experiences he'd had were fascinating to listen to.

What really stayed with me, though, was that even years after retiring from elite sport, he was still training, still looking after himself and still setting himself goals.

The medals had stopped.

The mindset hadn't.

The people who achieve extraordinary things are often the ones who keep doing the ordinary things consistently.

Who was the most famous person you've ever unexpectedly found yourself sitting next to? 👇

PS. And in case you're wondering, the photo was created by my AI friends in the sky. We never actually posed for a selfie at Wimbledon... although I wish we had! 😆

Quick question.

Are you ready for Q4?

Not hoping.

Not winging it.

Actually ready?

Because the businesses that have strong Q4s usually started preparing months ago.

They know their audiences.

They've tested creative.

They understand what converts.

If Q4 is important to your business, now is the time to get serious about it.

How prepared do you feel out of 10?

💥 £2,500 ad spend.
£62,000 revenue.

That's what one month of Meta ads generated for a client.

The interesting bit isn't the result.

It's that we didn't do anything revolutionary.

No hacks.
No secret audiences.
No complicated funnels.

We tested creative.
Focused on the offer.
Followed the data.

Fancy marketing tactics are massively overrated.

Most of the time the businesses getting the best results are simply doing the basics really well.

What's the simplest thing that's worked well in your business recently?
