No Permission Needed: Bringing Play Back Into Filmmaking 🎬

Some of the best filmmaking happens when you stop asking for permission.

At Seven24 Collective, we gathered filmmakers and storytellers for a conversation about rediscovering play in the creative process and why experimentation, curiosity, and going against the grain are often where the most exciting work begins.

Featuring an incredible panel with Jonah Feingold, Eleanore Pienta, Danilo Parra, and Leaf Lieber, hosted by on air personality Liam Crowley, the night was a reminder that great art rarely comes from playing it safe.

A special thank you to Cinapse for sponsoring the evening. Cinapse builds modern production scheduling software designed specifically for the film and television industry. Created by assistant directors, producers, and technologists, the platform helps production teams collaborate more efficiently, stay aligned, and keep projects on time and on budget.

And thank you to Seven24 Collective for opening their doors to us and for their continued support of the creative community. Spaces like this make it possible for artists and storytellers to gather, exchange ideas, and keep pushing the craft forward.

To everyone who joined us and added to the energy in the room, thank you. More conversations, collaborations, and creative sparks to come.

Last week, @thespyhouse had the honor of hosting an unforgettable ‘In Conversation With’ the brilliant William Catlett at @seven24collective What unfolded was more than a Q&A. It was a masterclass in purpose, perseverance, and trusting your inner compass.

From creating his own work earlier in his career to starring alongside @halleberry @kevinhart4real , @samuelljackson , and most recently @lindacardellini in @a24 ’s much-anticipated Crystal Lake, a prequel to Friday the 13th which he recently wrapped, William spoke candidly about finding his voice as both an artist and a man of faith. He shared profound insights on legacy, self-belief, and the quiet knowing that the real opportunity lives within.

Thank you to everyone who came out, and to Seven24 Collective for holding space so beautifully.

Our last ThespyHouse Sounds was one we’d been craving. A change of pace. A reminder of the importance of quiet in our creative pursuit.

Through the delicate, transportive sounds of @marta_cascales_alimbau , every note carried weight, every pause drew us deeper into presence.

With the artistry of @jonatan.lujan.art and @milenajcomeau , everyday gestures became poetry, revealing the beauty of the human condition.

ThespyHouse Sounds is more than music. It’s about connection, craft, and culture. The moments that remind us why we make art.

Thank you to @seven24collective for hosting us, and to everyone who joined. You make these nights unforgettable.

More than just a social club….

At ThespyHouse, our mission is to give artists the tools and space to reach their full potential. It starts with the craftwork: workshops, incubators, and activations that push the envelope, creating an environment where collaboration and inspiration thrive. The social element follows naturally, not the other way around.
