Still not entirely sure this was real life. To @jalenbrunson1 and @jhart : sorry for blacking out and rambling absolute nonsense at you. I walked up thinking I was going to break down defensive schemes and walked away realizing I just aggressively told them they made my entire life.

Wish I held it together enough to ask the questions I planned and truly show how much of a die hard I am, but just getting to shake your hands and say thank you meant the world.

The moment I always dreamed of. This one was for you dad. You raised me a Knicks fan, it was our bond, and always will be. All the games we went to, the walk back from the garden to the car, stopping at the diner to have a black and white cookie and dissect the game. I know you’re looking down somewhere with a big stogey in your mouth and smiling at what the boys did. Dear Dad,

20 years ago, I walked into your room one last time and little did I know that was going to be the last day I saw you alive. 20 years. It feels insane to say that number out loud. It’s even more crazy when I think about all the memories you missed over those 20 years. What I would give to walk out on the porch right now, see you sitting there with a cigar lit, box of Wheat Thins by the feet, and tossing a ball up into your glove. I can imagine it now. You making an insane joke about even 20 years after you’re gone, Knicks still can’t win, just to get the tears out of my eyes. We would head out to the backyard and slowly start throwing pop ups to practice outfield drills. I imagine just smiling, not even talking about the stories, the life updates that I need to catch up on. Just me and you like good ole times, with the silence of Ridgefield CT in the background. The sun would start to fade and the night settling in. Mom would be shouting “Dinner” from afar. Throwing your arm over my shoulder we would walk in the house with the Yankees game on. And you would look at me and say “Start from the top, tell me about all the days since I have been gone” That’s my perfect dream today. Love you paps, miss ya. by @thesteamfest
