Three piece from the Outerboroughs, NY
Video for “Maybe I Am (The First Song)” below
“The Thief of Joy” OUT NOW!!

POSTS STORIES REELS

Its here. The official video for “Maybe I Am (The First Song)” is out in the world. Link is in the bio.

This was the first song we wrote and felt like it should be the first video we do.

It’s an understatement to say how much fun we had making this. This feels like our favorite thing we’ve done as a band and hope it brings some joy to your day as well as a few laughs. Hopefully you can identify with both wanting to stand out but feeling self-conscious to do so all at the same time.

Now for the shoutout to @itstylerb. We randomly approached him at the @bandsketballin_bk event just because he had a camera in his hand. We said “Want to make a video?” and for some reason he said yes. That grew into an awesome partnership (and friendship) and we can’t thank him enough. He made us feel comfortable and had the vision. If you need anything with a camera done you’d be crazy to not work with him.

Lastly, shout out to @shaislike for his acting skills and leather clothing and @nancyfischetti for her makeup work and wardrobe help. Also big shoutout to @theluckylott for having us in his space and offering up some extra details. He was a big piece in making this happen.

Apologies for the long post. Enjoy.

We’re extremely excited to announce our second EP “The Thief of Joy” will be coming on January 5th 2024. This was an absolute labor of love that we had a blast making.

These songs were initially not intended to be an EP but when planning what we’d do next it was apparent to us that these had a theme that ran through them. It was a progression from self doubt to understanding that you have to keep chipping away at your goals and attempting to get better no matter what that is. These songs are about coming to a bit of a realization that you shouldn’t let you be your own worst enemy when it comes to chasing something.

After every show, practice, writing session we’d analyze ourselves to a fault. It was taking away that playing music with your closest friends is one of the most fun/rewarding things you can do. With that someone said “Comparison is the thief of joy” and it stuck. It seemed to be the perfect summation of what was going on in the band and in these songs.

Now for credits: a huge thanks to @applesbananas.art for painting this amazing cover. It was all done by hand, no photoshop editing. We had a vision of a landscape fading and he made it come to life. Or degrade into nothing.

Next up is @claireozmun who was annoyed countless times to make the album layout. You were paid in one raspberry lime Spindrift but are owed lunch.

Last a huge shoutout to @communityoflivingthings who produced/recorded/mixed the hell out of this damn thing at @theanimalfarmnj. Thanks for doing more than pressing record, helping us with our vision and giving us some needed confidence to execute front to back. Additional help from @aaxcelson and @rob.chiarappa also didn’t go unnoticed.

We hope you enjoy on 1/5.

Surprise! We decided to record an acoustic version of our single “New Bands” in the same session which is out now.

I came up with this version tinkering around one night, showed it to the guys and we all felt it should go on record.

This version gives a much different feel to the song (aka sadder) and definitely is unique amongst everything we’ve put out this far.

Once again produced by @christeti and alternate artwork done by @i.posner.

This one has the singer-songwriter side of music that I’ve always really enjoyed. Recorded on my beloved and well worn Martin which felt like my first “real” guitar I got in high school, it was a fingerpicking challenge and I think it came out really cool. A lot of feels on this. Enjoy.

Our single “New Bands” is out in the world today. This is our favorite song we’ve ever put out both musically and lyrically and draws inspiration from bands we love such as Title Fight, Fiddlehead, and other bands you might see in the tickets on the cover.

As the last part in what can be called a trilogy of songs (two of which are on our first EP for those wondering), “New Bands” seeks to tell the story of a relationship distilled through two people’s love for music, all taking place in the middle of a venue as a show goes on.

It was an emotional one to write and record, so hoping that all of the feelings come across. There’s a lot more to say about this track but as always we hope you can relate to it and enjoy it.

Produced by @christeti over at @silverbulletstudios, this song came to life just in the way we wanted it to. Chris’ patience, care, and good sense of humor helped fuel these sessions and make the track what it became.

The cover art was done by @i.posner who made an idea I had for a long time come to life. All of these tickets were plucked from my very real ticket book that I keep (remember hard tickets?) and were chosen because of the significance they had in relation to the song. He did an amazing job that we all love.

Thanks for caring, thanks for listening. - Tom

We are algorithmically obligated to make an end of year post so this is some of what we cobbled together. 2024 was a fun year. We put out an EP “The Thief of Joy” in the first week of January (thanks to production from @communityoflivingthings) which lead into an amazing release show on January 6th (oops!). That was an incredible show thanks to @dweller.ny, @politecantcomplain and @screwbawlnyc. Can’t say enough about how great those bands are.

That lead into putting out a video with @itstylerb where we had maybe the most fun we’ve ever had. A lot of laughs were shared, Tyler is ridiculously talented and made our really dumb vision come to life in a really cool way. We’re super proud of that video and love the way it came out.

In between a lot of cool shows (including our first at @thesultanroom) where we got to meet a lot of cool bands (shoutout @actadvband who were very fun to watch) we recorded a single that we put out in the final hours of 2024. With amazing production from @christeti we released “Snap the Leash” and have more coming from those sessions.

We tagged a bunch of people because they helped us bring our music to life as well as have a lot of fun along the way. Honorable mentions to some of the folks we’ve played with and took pics such as @fruitdoggydawg (the true homies) @coresamples (who blessed us with the cover of our EP) @halliekanter (great visual artist) and @taelorolive (very talented behind the lens).

We don’t post very often so this is what happens when we do. Here’s to many more mountain climbed, plans executed, wins visualized, and leashes snapped. Thank you.

Our new single “Snap the Leash” releases Friday 11/15. It’s been a while and we’re excited to be back with some new music.

Put simply, this a song about control. Some might think this was written from the perspective of a relationship but it wasn’t. However we feel that it is a song that can be interpreted from many different standpoints as it seems that we all experience feeling stuck/powerless in one way or another.

We recorded this single way out in the state of CT @silverbulletstudios with the great @christeti . With our previous EP we threw everything at the wall. We wanted to be maximalists. This time around we recorded as we play. Vocals, guitar, bass & drums. @christeti knew what we were going for and was the perfect person to see the vision through.

If you wind up listening when it comes out, we appreciate it in advance.

11/15 at @berlin.undernyc. An eventful show with almost the whole bill celebrating new releases. @webringrockandroll dropping an album, @the_triceratops dropping an album, @iamoxa holding it down.

Oh, and we’ll also be dropping our new single. More to come on that soon.

It’s been a minute so hope to see you there. by @thetellingtime

We came to dance.

Last week @thesultanroom with @carpoolny @actadvband and @youthfountainmusic was amazing. Should’ve posted sooner but we’re bad with this stuff.

Thanks to all who came out, both old friends and new ones.

On to the next show on June 8th with @twistedwrist.band who are putting on a very cool festival. Info in bio.
