It is with absolute joy and disbelief and all the weird and wonderful emotions that I can finally share I’m a WA finalist nominee for the 2027 Young Australian of the Year Awards.

If you were the cheeky (and lovely) person who nominated me, please let me know I would love to know who is responsible!

It’s been an amazing journey from the start of @_seagals_ until now. From the amazing gals myself and the team have met, plus seeing the growth of our other locations around the country that get to spread the Sea Gals effect to women in Sydney, Wollongong, South West, Broome, Newcastle and Gold Coast.

I also can’t forget about the joy and growth Sea Gals has given to myself. Whilst some people might hear about us and wonder ‘what’s so special about a dip’ - others who know what we do understand the positive impact Sea Gals has had on women’s mental health, body image, confidence, growth and empowerment. Not only through a sunrise ocean dip, but through community, open connection, de-stigmatised expectations of women’s appearances, and more.

I’m excited to see where and how Sea Gals grows, and I can genuinely say this nomination wasn’t on my bingo card but I’m grateful it’s an opportunity I’m able to be a part of!

Postcards from Greece with @_seagals_ 🇬🇷

We’ve got 15 gals joining us in Greece for a 9 day getaway exploring Athens, Mykonos, Ios and Santorini 💙

We’re just over halfway through the trip and it’s one of those moments where you have to pinch yourself 🥹

Not sure how to wrap this experience up!

@20hoursfor20talk is an event to sit with your thoughts for 20 hours in silence with no technology.

I still have ink stains on my hands from how much journaling I did.

I got to catch up on sleep. And I got to learn more about myself.

A big part of my life for a few years has been my role at @20_talk, and FINALLY I’ll be completing the @20hoursfor20talk challenge 🧡

Ya gal will not be talking or using technology and will be sitting in a 2x2m square for 20 hours.

I’m fundraising for the people that are directly impacted by donations that are raised for this challenge - the people who get put through the Mental Health Maintenance workshop 👏FOR👏FREE.

I have been honoured to host workshops for our @_seagals_ community over the last 3 years and help women centre themselves, reconnect with how to maintain their wellbeing and place more VALUE on the areas of their life that make up their wellbeing: sleep, nutrition, exercise, breathing, emotions, finance, relationships, career, spirituality, intellectual curiosity, your environments, and self control.

There are 1000’s of people in the public that are able to receive this workshop to help them because of the fundraising from this challenge. Not just Sea Gals.

I’m proud to be a part of this team that are helping young people and their mental health 🤎

This will be a big challenge for me since I love talking SO MUCH (if ya haven’t noticed). I usually have a microphone in front of me, or I’m always doing SOMETHING and keeping busy. So this will be not only a fundraising opportunity but a personal challenge.

Sometimes I start speaking to people and wonder if I’m “too much” because I get excited, I’m sometimes shrill, animated and loud.
