Hace un año que @okatastudio y yo hicimos este road trip. Catorce horas, cuatro paradas, dos tripulantes y un automóvil de cincuenta y tres años que se portó increíblemente bien. Todo un viajecito! #mersedes_benz #roadtrip #americanroadtrip #northcarolina #miami by @thetimeless_280

My phone just let me know that, exactly two years ago, I started to address my car’s rust issues. Last two pictures: Black Eyed Susans and Blue Mist Flowers. The end of summer. The start of fall. #northcarolina #thequeencity #nc #mercedesbenz #w108 by @thetimeless_280

Okay. A car brought back to life and a surprising discovery:
I knew I had a metal plate with the name and address of the 280’s first owner. Today was also cleaning day and, pulling out the plate to give some order to the glove box, I was dragged by curiosity, went to Google Maps and typed the address stamped on the unusual document: It seems to be that my car’s first place was a very nice old house at Metairie, a city that is part of New Orleans’ metropolitan area!
And, now, I wonder if the MB can make it all the way to The Crescent City 😎. #neworleans #mercedes_benz #mb #w108 #greatcar by @thetimeless_280

A picture from March, 2025, a few months after I finished some bodywork and had the car painted the cheapest way possible. At that point we still needed: A new water pump
Brake job
Front end overhaul
Driveshaft repaired
A huge number of miscellaneous issues to solve

But it already was a great looking car, don’t you agree? 😎. #mercedes #mercedesbenz #w108 #classicmercedes by @thetimeless_280

Despite their poor quality, this images show what I found sitting in a backyard, back in February, 2024. It took me a while to clean up and have the car running (first time I turned the ignition switch, after pouring fresh gas into the tank and do all I could to start the engine safely, nothing happened 😅). But after this first attempts, I was able to see that my future car had a lot of potential. And didn’t hesitate to start the process to put it back on the road! It’s been all fun and headaches since. 😎 #mercedesbenz #w108 #classiccars by @thetimeless_280

Okay, here’s the car. These were the first decent pictures I took to the 280 SE after more than one year of very intense work and the collaboration of several friends. And, yes, it looks pretty decent too. But I’m sure you don’t know how it looked the first time I saw it, sitting in the backyard of a good friend of mine. Do you want to see that very first picture and the whole process that took this Mercedes from a backyard in North Carolina to the sunny coast of South Florida? If this little story has triggered your curiosity, just wait until you see the next post 😎. #mercedes #mersedes_benz #w108 by @thetimeless_280
