✨Whats up beautiful people !? I thought I would share a little more about me and what about my life forged me into the “Twisted Wanderer”

✨I was diagnosed with Scoliosis at age 13 and I haven’t known my body without pain since 15/ 16 years old. I had my spinal fusion at 25 years old, 3 years after I lost my best friend/brother Jake to a Heroin OD.

✨I have experienced many forms of grief and those I have lost inspire me to show up to life even on the days I don’t want to. 🖤

✨I grew up always feeling too much, too loud, and an unshakeable feeling I was different and never really felt belonging.

✨The Twist refers to my Scoliosis, ADHD, Sexuality(Bi) 🌈and the Beauty that is found even in the deepest depths of darkness and proof that every Twist can lead to something beautiful even when sometimes, it’s simultaneously painful.

✨Wanderer- Right before I was told I needed surgery , I had tickets and plans to go explore Bali on a solo adventure. Instead I cancelled the flight and scheduled spinal fusion surgery and ever since I have been dancing through cities, crossing off bucket lists and follow every crazy Idea I ever had because I never wanted to feel stuck the way my fusion and life at the time made me feel.

✨I started to show up online in October 2023 and since then I have broken down the isolation and loneliness, by starting the Unaligned & Unfiltered podcast, met beautiful people who share similar ,twisted paths and I have started to unpack the trauma and begin my healing journey after years of ignoring the hurt.

✨Showing up and sharing my story and meeting all of you quite literally saved me. So thank you for being here, and welcome to The Twisted Community!! So much good things to come ! 💚

✨my answer : nothing about Scoliosis or Fusion is nonchalant & we go through so much as a young adult deciding to say YES to surgery 💚

✨I’m happy to say I finally found the letter I wrote myself before spinal fusion surgery in September of 2016 at 25 yrs old. I have been searching for it and I’m just so grateful I found it because it has me reflecting since my 10 years will be this September and in honor of Scoliosis Awareness month I wanted to share it 🤗
