I had a delightfully wavy-brained conversation with a woman tending her garden in West Concord today. I was out on a walk and her garden stopped me in my tracks, so I had to share my compliments, which, unfortunately for her (and maybe for me), turned very quickly into an overshare that I’m pretty sure made her pause 🤣 And while she loved my compliments, she’s probably hoping we don’t run into each other again (🎈weeeeee💃🏼)
Here are the 🌷 with a healthy dose of standard-issue cupholder fodder.

✨ACTON, MA✨

Last Friday I co‑hosted a networking event for two dozen Boston‑area women entrepreneurs and birth-workers alongside Megan Peasley (Founder, @illuminatedbirthdoula ) and Jennifer Vohra (Founder, @jen.bloompelvichealth).

I had the honor of kicking off the event with a full moon sound bath—setting the stage for deep, meaningful connection that transforms both hearts and businesses. Watching these 24 powerful, compassionate women settle into stillness reminded me of what our culture keeps forgetting:

You don’t have to do more to grow more. Growth also comes from what you release—and what you allow yourself to receive.

Playing more with creativity as an emotional regulation outlet (versus another something on my “should do list”). It’s been good practice to slow down, be messy and play, let the colors and textures tickle my brain etc. plus, it’s been fun to lean into my enjoyment of gift giving. Oh and self-compassion: it’s helped me practice not feeling guilty about leaving the supplies on the table for next time. I promised the fam I would tidy and store it neatly for a meet-in-middle compromise for them having to work around my pile and that felt good.

Yesterday was April 1st and I got to change out the Kaleidoscope calendar in my office. Removed (added it back to the box for next year) March and added September. Nothing like a little color switch up to bring a little novelty and newness to a space you’re in everyday - it certainly helps that navy blue is my fave color. This is like candy to the ADHD brain. Something as small as this or using a new colored pen or even changing out the desktop scene on your computer will give you a small umphff to get your day going! 💡 @kaleidoscope_living taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @thewavybrain

When life gets wavy, try giving yourself permission.

This isn’t quitting or giving up. It IS permission to respond to life as it actually is. Listening to your mind, body, soul and needs.

That might look like:
• a pause before pushing through
• doing the thing “the weird way” because it works
• canceling plans when your battery is cooked
• letting rest be productive
• letting creativity be the thing you need today

Life doesn’t stop being wavy.
But when we stop fighting the waves, things get a little easier. A little softer. A little more you. A little less splashy and a bit more flowy.

💭 Wave Check: What would permission look like for you right now?
✨Messy answers welcome and encouraged 🦄

2025 was the Year of the Snake.
2026 is the Year of the Horse.

I didn’t know that when I drew a snake a couple of weeks ago in November last year. I didn’t know that when I started wrapping horseshoes with thread either.

But here we are. 🐍➡️🐎

The Snake year was about shedding. Quiet growth. Letting go of what no longer fit — identities, patterns, expectations. A lot of internal work. A lot of slow, intentional change.

And now we’re moving into the Year of the Horse — movement, visibility, expression. Taking what’s been refined on the inside and letting it show up in the world. With energy. With intention. With boundaries.

The timing feels… not accidental ✨🌙✨

What started as something I made with my hands — just for grounding, creativity, and joy — has gotten more interest than I expected. And I’m listening to that.

So consider this a gentle noticing. And maybe… a small tease. 👀

More to come. In the meantime: root before you run. by @thewavybrain

The way the world largely talks about ADHD makes it seem like ADHD is a productivity problem. Too many tabs open. Not enough willpower. Didn’t check all (or the right) boxes on the sacred to do list…

The deeper view is that productivity isn’t always about output. Sometimes it’s about energy. Sometimes it’s about capacity. Sometimes it’s about choosing one thing that helps you feel grounded, capable or even just…okay.

So let’s drop the “muscle through” and the “just do it” energy. You’re allowed to define what being productive looks like for you. Not your boss. Not your mom. Not the internet.

So share here if you feel inclined: what’s one thing you could do or did do today that made you FEEL productive?

Sometimes, the impulsive side of ADHD gets a bad rap. But it’s not all missed deadlines and online shopping rabbit holes. 🕳️

Sometimes? It’s buying the ticket.
Saying yes.
Starting the thing.
The impulse to try, explore, go for it, even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed, is a powerful (and often fun) part of a wavy brain.

Yeah, it can get us into hot spots when we’re not tuned in.
But when it hits right? We’re the spontaneous friend who makes the plan, sparks the idea, and jumps in with both feet.

So today’s Wave Check is a reminder:
Don’t be afraid to lean into that part of you.

It’s not reckless, it’s resourceful, adventurous, and sometimes... exactly what you need.

🌊 Let’s see what happens.

This week’s #wavecheck has a little more weight to it.
These pics are of me and my why. 💛
When I was diagnosed with ADHD, I didn’t learn about it. At all.
I took the meds.
I kept working late.
I kept masking.
I kept saying yes when I should’ve asked for space.
I told myself, “This isn’t that big a deal.”
I believed all the stereotypes, that ADHD was just for hyper little boys who couldn’t sit still. (it’s not.)
Then the pandemic hit.
I was pregnant with my daughter.
Everything I’d been sweeping under the rug came flooding out.
The emotional overwhelm.
The decision paralysis.
The exhaustion from pretending I was fine.

That was the moment I realized:
ADHD was playing a MUCH bigger role in my life than I ever understood.
And the real problem wasn’t me, it was how little I actually knew about myself and how I experience the world.

There’s a saying we used in coaching school:
👉 “The pills don’t build the skills.”
Cringy? Yes.
True? Also, yes. 💯

It’s also why I created my ADHD 101 offering. A two-session starter to help you (or someone you love) understand how ADHD actually works — and how it shows up in real life. Because understanding your brain work is the first step toward changing how you treat yourself.

Sometimes the distraction finds you. Sometimes you find the reason for the distraction.
Today, I found this fluffy chaos goblin under my desk chair.
Exactly what I needed: A tiny moment. A full stop. A sensory break.
Proof that not all distractions are bad - some are soft, purring reminders to pause. 😻🤍
