INGROWN HAIR REMOVAL | PCOS + FACIAL HAIR

Ladies with PCOS know that hormonal changes can sometimes come with unwanted or excessive facial hair. And when you’re constantly shaving, plucking, or picking at those hairs, you can end up dealing with ingrown hairs, irritation, and hyperpigmentation (dark marks).

This beautiful client came in for a half-face chin + neck wax and we also addressed those stubborn ingrown hairs.

Here’s the tea

When a hair curls or grows back into the follicle instead of coming straight out, it can become trapped and create an ingrown hair. And if that hair is still sitting inside the follicle, the bump may continue to stay irritated until that hair is properly removed.

🚨 STOP POKING YOUR SKIN!

If you’re going to tweeze an ingrown, the type of tweezer matters. I prefer a flat/slanted tweezer rather than an extremely sharp tip. The goal is to gently grab the hair not repeatedly poke, dig, or traumatize the surrounding skin.

Every time you pick, poke, or squeeze irritated skin, you can create more inflammation, which can lead to darker marks especially if you’re prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

My aftercare tips:
• Keep the area clean after hair removal
• Witch hazel can be used if appropriate for your skin
• A cool compress can help calm temporary irritation
• An exfoliant can help prevent dead skin from trapping hairs
• Choose between a gentle chemical exfoliant or a gentle manual exfoliant based on your skin and professional guidance
• DON’T pick or dig at your skin
• If facial hair is persistent due to hormonal factors, consider speaking with a dermatologist about longer-term options such as laser hair reduction

And remember: waxing isn’t just about removing hair it’s about HOW we remove it.

Baby, this was probably one of the FUNNIEST and most FUN events!
I HAD A TIME! That’s really all I can say!

Nothing but laughs, good vibes, great energy & some amazing people! Everybody was cool, everybody was outside, and baby, we was moving ALL through that joint! You never knew who you were gonna run into!

Not to mention, I came ALONE! I bought ONE ticket at the last minute and met up with my people once I got there. You always gon’ know somebody! And when you’re by yourself, things just flow in some of the BEST directions. Those really be the best nights!

10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 🎤🔥

Went to see @ellamai SOLO and baby, I HAD A TIME! If she hasn’t come to your city yet, GO SEE HER!

Her vocals LIVE?! 🔥 The crowd, the energy, the entire show was AMAZING. It was hot as hell outside, but it was SO worth it! And yes, you’re definitely going to hear me singing throughout these clips 😂 I couldn’t help myself. I didn’t sit down!

Now why I decided to wear wedges to a concert?! NEVER AGAIN. I damn near fell down the steps, dropped my Hennessy margarita and caught myself with my KNEE because one thing I was NOT about to do was hit that ground! 😂😂 Lord knew!

Outside of that little situation… 1000/10 EXPERIENCE.

Ella Mai is SLEPT ON! Give that woman her FLOWERS 💐 because the vocals, the music and the ENERGY?! She deserves way more credit. And her skin She’s really top tier….. 😍
