The lack of fast, frequent and reliable public transport impacts everyone in Melbourne’s West, but for households with children, the toll is exceptionally high. 🚍🚏

For many teenagers, ongoing transport barriers are making it difficult to stay connected with school, community and social activities, leaving parents struggling to bridge the gap.

"Reliable buses aren’t a luxury, they’re the difference between feeling part of a community and feeling cut off from it. A community can’t grow when its people can’t reliably move around it," says Better Buses campaigner Penny.

Melton Station is open, but is the rail network keeping up? 🚆🤔

The new station delivers upgraded facilities for Melbourne’s fast-growing west, but locals say more frequent services and extra trains are needed.

A $1.7 billion pledge for 25 new hybrid-electric trains has put rail capacity back in the spotlight, while advocacy group LeadWest is calling for bigger, long-term network upgrades. 🚧
