POSTS STORIES REELS

🚨 Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt your normal programming to bring you a very important announcement…🚨

3,000 of you are here. THREE THOUSAND. 🥹

I know numbers are arbitrary. A follower count doesn’t say anything about the actual size of a heart or the quality of a book take. But these numbers feel different, because every single one is a person who chose to be here—chose my too-honest reviews and my chaotic themed posts. You picked this little corner of the internet on purpose, and that undoes me a little.

Getting here has been a whole journey, and the best part hasn’t been the number climbing—it’s been the people. The friends I’ve made in comments and DMs, the ones I’ve somehow gotten to hug in real life, the recommendations that turned into actual friendships. That’s the stuff.

So thank you for showing up, for including me in buddy reads, for reading the ramble captions all the way to the end (hi, you made it 👋). Here’s to many more books and many more stories together. 💛

🍂 OCTOBER READING WRAP-UP 🍂

Eight books. A few new favorites. Lots of feelings. And not a single bad read in the bunch! 🥹📚

October, you were SO good to me! I started the month incredibly strong and finished just as strong. Whatever I’m doing with my reading lately, it’s WORKING!

I’m finding new favorites, getting emotionally invested, and just loving the stories I’m picking up. Give me complicated characters, messy family dynamics, found family, grief, hope, and all the feelings. I’m eating it ALL up!

🌟 My standout read? Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monaghan!

Oh, how I loved this one! From Dolly herself to Stewart (who absolutely stole my heart), the entire cast of characters made this story something special. The family dynamics, the banter, the tenderness…it just worked for me! Was it perfect? Nope. Did I care? Not one bit! ❤️

And can we appreciate that I didn’t have a single bad read all month?! That’s a pretty damn good October!

Now, I know we’re all a little sad to say goodbye to spooky season, but I’m welcoming November with open arms! 🍁 Bring on the pumpkin spice, everything nice, cozy reading days, and the inevitable family fun (or drama 👀) that comes with the holidays. 😂

Here’s to another month of memorable stories and books that make us FEEL something!

🍂 QOTD: With only two months left in the year, what’s ONE upcoming book release you’re still counting down the days for?

📖 AOTD: Umm…JOHN GWYNNE, ANYONE?! ⚔️👀 IYKYK!

🎃 How many of you are hiding your kids’ Halloween candy and telling them you ate it all? 😂 Does anyone else remember those Jimmy Kimmel videos?! I don’t have kids, but I do remember the absolute devastation. 💀🍬

Happy Halloween! My orange and green books are doing their best pumpkin impression today. 🧡💚

It’s been rainy, the weather is cooling down, and fall is finally settling in. A lazy weekend of reading, cozy clothes, and a little crafting sounds pretty perfect to me. 🍂☕️

I’ve also been experimenting with book journaling, and I’m thinking 2027 might look a little different! Swipe for a peek at what I’m trialing for November—a scrapbook-style TBR spread and a literary lexicon for interesting words I find while reading. Mostly, I’m having fun playing with paper and stickers and seeing where it goes. 🤎

I’ll share what my November TBR is shaping up to look like soon, but I’m not quite ready to let October go!

Have a happy Halloween, friends! 👻📚

🎃 Halloween is this weekend! What are you dressing up as this year?

Midweek seems like the perfect time for a reading update! October is almost over, so I’m cramming in as many books as I can before the month runs out. 😅

🎄Christmas Staycation by Meghan Quinn: Still working my way through this one and it’s so fun and entertaining. Also full of so many… ahem… sexual innuendos. 👀 Christmas vacation at another level, my friends.

👻 Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia: This one isn’t capturing all of my attention yet, but I’m thinking this house and this family are pretty damn sus. Also, I definitely would not be staying in a home with that much fog. I’m only 70 pages in, so full opinion TBD.

💛 The Top of the World by Ethan Joella: I started this one and I’m already so invested. It’s a sad story about a family that loses a brother and son much too early, and our MC sets out to discover what his last best summer was like. I’m 42% in and I already know this one is going to stay with me long after I finish. 🥹

What’s everyone else reading this week? 📖

Does size matter…on your bookshelves? 👀 Do your series need to match—same size, same format, same editions—or are you okay with a little variety?

Before Bookstagram, I barely thought about this. Paperback for book one, hardcover for book two, maybe a missing dust jacket. As long as I had the book, I was happy. 😂

Now I’m pretty particular about my shelves, but occasionally I still make an exception. Clearly, this series is one of them. 📚

With the weather cooling down and spooky season in the air, it felt like a good Saturday to pull out Ninth House. I read and loved the first book, picked up Hell Bent, and then added Dead Beat to my Book of the Month box last month. Have I read those last two? No. Do I have every intention of getting back into this series and finishing them next year? Absolutely.

Apparently, buying the next book requires much less commitment than actually picking it up. 🫣

For now, these are bringing all the atmospheric fall vibes—and reminding me that I have some unfinished business with Leigh Bardugo.

So tell me: would these mismatched editions bother you, or would they fit right in on your shelves? 🍂

It’s What I’m Reading Wednesday, and my brain is currently split between a haunted house and a Christmas strip club. Normal stuff. 📚

Japanese Gothic by Kylie Lee Baker: I’m 45% in and it is NOT what I expected, in the best way. The dual timeline is working for me, it’s dark and creepy, and there are so many secrets that I’m side-eyeing every single character. I have no idea where this is going and I need to know. Book club is Monday, so wish me luck finishing it in time. 🩸

Christmas Staycation by Meghan Quinn: Yes, Christmas is still two months away. No, I don’t care. Her newest holiday book came out yesterday, I started it last night, and page one already had me crying laughing. This one is going to be spicy. 🌶️ Swipe to see the opening lines and tell me you’re not hooked.

So what’s everyone else reading this week? And please tell me your work life is just as chaotic as mine right now, so I don’t feel alone. 😅

🍂 BOOK REVIEW | Dolly All the Time 🍂

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well, damn it. I loved this book. 🥹❤️

You know those books that just emotionally resonate with you, even when you can recognize they’re not perfect? THIS ONE.

From the cinnamon roll MMC (which is usually not my favorite) to the family dynamics surrounding Dolly, I was ALL IN.

Dolly is a fiercely protective older sister and daughter who has made it her responsibility to take care of everyone around her. She’s strong, stubborn, loving, and so accustomed to carrying the weight of her family that she doesn’t quite know what to do when someone wants to show up for HER.

And I connected with that. Deeply.

Enter Stewart. Our sweet, patient, ridiculously lovable MMC who Dolly meets on the side of the road when he has a flat tire.

First of all, STEWART?! 😂 I’m sorry, but there was a point where I genuinely disliked his name. And somehow, by the end, I couldn’t imagine him being called anything else. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

But the way this man SHOWS UP?! The dialogue, the tenderness, the way he sees Dolly for who she is? I was a goner.

And can we please give Dolly’s brother Christopher some love?! Because I absolutely adored him. 🥹

Was it a little insta-lovey? Yes. Did some things work out a little too conveniently? Also yes. Did I care? NOT ONE BIT.

I loved these characters. I loved the humor. I loved the family dynamics. And I loved that beneath this sweet romance was a story about learning that you don’t always have to be the person holding everything together.

It was a quick read, it made me feel ALL the things, and it reminded me that sometimes a five-star read isn’t about a flawless story. It’s about the way it makes you feel.

And this one got me. ❤️

💬 QOTD: Are you a sucker for a cinnamon roll MMC, or do you prefer your fictional men a little more morally gray? 👀

🎃 5 BOOKS. 5 FLAVORS OF HORROR. 🖤

Friends, it’s spooky season, and I’m here to serve up a little something for every kind of horror reader. 👻

Do you like your horror atmospheric? Creepy? Unsettling? A little weird? Or perhaps you enjoy watching a morally questionable woman make some VERY questionable decisions? Because SAME. 💀

I’ve read all five of these books, and let me tell you, they DELIVERED! Two were 5⭐ reads for me, and the other three weren’t far behind. So consider this my personal endorsement of five deliciously disturbing books that deserve a spot on your spooky season reading list!

We’ve got:

🩸 Bloodlust — Hungerstone by Kat Dunn. Gothic atmosphere, sapphic vampires, and forbidden desire.

🔪 Feminine Rage — Mary by Nat Cassidy. Menopause, madness, and a woman who has absolutely HAD ENOUGH.

🌲 Psychological Dread — The Caretaker by Marcus Kliewer. Isolation, sinister secrets, and the kind of creeping unease that makes you question EVERYTHING.

🥀 Sartorial Horror — Guillotine by Delilah S. Dawson. High fashion, filthy rich people, and some spectacularly bloody consequences.

🥧 Victorian Gothic — The Butcher’s Daughter by David Demchuk & Corinne Leigh Clark. Morally gray women, revenge, and a meat pie you probably shouldn’t ask too many questions about.

Five very different stories, five very different reading experiences, and not a single one I’d hesitate to recommend!

And listen, horror doesn’t always have to mean jump scares and things that go bump in the night. Sometimes it’s the atmosphere, the psychological unraveling, or the realization that the REAL monsters might just be people. 👀

QOTD: What’s your favorite flavor of horror? Are you here for the gothic atmosphere, psychological mind games, supernatural scares, or ALL the blood and gore? And have you read any of these?!

Happy haunting, friends! 🖤🎃

My first ’ber-month gumball pick is finished, and boy… The Mad Wife was a wild ride. 👀

Beautiful writing, a heartbreaking story, and so much to sit with about being a woman, a wife, and a mother in the 1950s. I’d call this a slow-moving character study with a thriller-esque vibe, so go in with those expectations!

The pacing kept this from being a five-star read for me, but it still earned 4.25⭐, and Lulu’s story gave me plenty to think about.

One book off my physical TBR means it’s time to reach into the jar again! Watch for my next pick—and tell me: have you read The Mad Wife, or is it still on your TBR?

🍂 FOUR BOOKS. ZERO REVIEWS. ALL THE SPOOKY VIBES. 👻

Friends, I have four books sitting on my physical TBR that I think would be PERFECT for spooky season, and yet…I have absolutely no plans to read any of them this month. 😂

BUT, that’s where you come in!

All four have caught my attention for one reason or another, and I’m curious if any of you have read them. Are they worth bumping up the TBR? Should I drop everything and pick one up immediately? Or should I just continue admiring their creepy covers from the comfort of my bookshelf? 👀

We’ve got revenge, unsettling atmospheres, psychological horror, and a little good old-fashioned nightmare fuel. Basically, everything I love in a creepy read!

📖 The Collective by Alison Gaylin — A grieving mother, a secretive group of women, and revenge that takes a VERY dark turn. Women supporting women…but make it murderous. 👀

📖 The Empusium by Olga Tokarczuk — A remote health resort, strange happenings, and an atmosphere that promises to be deeply unsettling. Literary horror with a side of existential dread? SIGN ME UP.

📖 Odessa by Gabrielle Sher — This cover alone is enough to give me the creeps. Something tells me this one is going to be wonderfully weird and disturbing.

📖 The Place Where They Buried Your Heart by Christina Henry — A creepy house, buried secrets, and something sinister lurking inside. Listen, I am a SUCKER for a haunted house story.

Have I read any of these? NOPE. Am I convinced they’re going to deliver a creepy good time? ABSOLUTELY. 😂

And because it’s Saturday, we’ve got another very important event happening today…

🏈 BOOMER SOONER, BABY!! ❤️🤍

It’s OU vs. Texas, and if you’re a Longhorn fan, you can kindly see yourself out.

JUST KIDDING. Mostly. 😏

Whether you’re spending your Saturday watching football, getting lost in a spooky book, or doing a little of both, I hope it’s a good one!

❓QOTD: Have you read any of these four? Which one should I move to the top of my TBR? Convince me! 🖤

Welcome to my “-BER” Month BUBBLEGUM PICKS! 🍬📚

Friends, we have reached the point in the year where I need to have a conversation with myself about the books I keep buying versus the books I am actually reading. 😂

I went through my physical TBR and chose 18 books I genuinely REALLY want to read before the end of 2026. Some have been sitting on my shelves patiently waiting. Some are newer purchases I swore I would read immediately. You know how that goes. 👀

So all 18 went into capsules and into the jar!

The rules are simple: I pull ONE Bubblegum Pick, and that’s my next physical TBR read. Once I finish it, I get to come back and pull another.

Will that mean a new pull every Tuesday? Maybe! Will one of these books hold me hostage for two weeks? Also maybe! 😂 There is no schedule—we’re letting my reading speed and the Bubblegum Gods decide.

But TODAY we make our very first pull. 🍬

And I am ridiculously excited to see how many of these 18 I can knock off my shelves before December 31.

Okay, place your bets: how many of the 18 do you think I’ll actually finish before the end of the year? 👀
