Does this look cozy to you? Yeah, same. This season is for starting to embrace coziness - yes, even in the middle of the rush of “back to school” and things picking up. Fall is the time of discernment, structure, the metal element - boundaries and discipline. Within this, though, we can be cozy. We can be soft within the container we create and set for ourselves. In fact, we operate best when we find this harmony of containment and ease. This is the exact reason I’m leading my Yin Teacher Training this fall. It’s our time to look inward, create routine and ritual for ourselves, apply just the right amount of structure, and then see what grows in that space. Additionally, the cat’s out of the bag! 300 Hour Yin & Yang Training kicks off with a 75-hour Yin Module. Online and hybrid in-person options for both tracks. Link in bio or comment YIN for the scoop. We start next week, but if you decide to join us and jump in late, go for it. Everything is recorded and spaced in a way that’s designed to support YOU. ☯️🤍🖤 by @theworkbyava
There’s a reason we’re taking this work to Bali. 🌿 Sometimes, stepping away from your everyday life gives you the space to see your practice differently. For eight days, we get to set aside the emails, schedules, classes, responsibilities, and noise and simply immerse ourselves in the work. Our mornings will begin in silence. We’ll meditate Practice Study Workshop Ask questions Teach Journal Eat together Explore Bali Rest. And then we’ll wake up and do it again. 🌞 NAMASKAR isn’t about escaping your life. It’s about creating enough space to return to it with something new. October 24–31, 2026 | Ubud, Bali Link in bio for all the details! by @theworkbyava
April 2026 My annual trip to Southeast Asia filled my heart, as it always does. I had a cohort of eight FUN teacher trainees @marstudio.movement in Vietnam to wrap up our intensive and grad classes for Yoga Barre Teacher Training. @yaskimberly put me to WORK with master classes and workshops all over the city, and we ate the best food and drank the best tea - of course. I spent a handful of days at the end surfing in Uluwatu, getting some sun and my fair share of coconuts and sunsets. Back in LA, more filming for Mat Pilates Training and our on demand collections, and the kitties were happy to have me home. Made @krista_e lift some weights with me 😘 Speaking of BALI, we’re going back! @danwarddog and I will be in Ubud October 24-31 for an immersion @the_in_movement for teachers and serious practitioners. If you want to dive deeper into the practice and study, we hope you’ll take the leap and join us for this incredible experience. @cailynodonnell and I are headed back to Ulu in April for a retreat! Many options to join me back in Indonesia this coming year. 🤍 Comment BALI for the scoop 🫶 by @theworkbyava

March 2026: Part 1 We went to Mexico for one of my favorite retreats to date! @krista_e and I co-led a week of movement, connection, sunshine, SO much laughter, rest, and incredible food. So very grateful for my talented friend who seamlessly linked with me like puzzle pieces made to fit. 🧩💚 you are the greatest, Krista! We had the most special group and the most special location, and there was magic that week. I’m still dreaming of the dolphins, the water, the conversations, and the most stunning scenery for practice. In case you haven’t heard…Mexico Retreat 2027 is happening in January! THE WORK is headed back 🤩. Link in bio or comment “MEXICO” for the scoop! ❤️ by @theworkbyava
If there’s one major, beautiful lesson I’ve been reminded of this past year of study with @danwarddog , it’s that the learning never really ends. Some of the most important lessons happen long after your first certification or training, and I can confirm that year after year, I continue to uncover more and more about myself and this practice of yoga. I’m thrilled to join one of my teachers for a week of study, practice, and connection in my favorite place in the world! Join us for an advanced yoga immersion designed for teachers and students who want to challenge themselves, deepen their understanding, and continue evolving their craft. 📍 Ubud, Bali @the_in_movement 🗓️ October 24–31, 2026 Visit the link in our bio to learn more, or comment BALI below for info on both the training and the retreat immersion option! by @theworkbyava
ASK ME about myofascial release… I double-dog dare you! 😺 I’ve personally been trying to incorporate more MFR into my movement practice, and I always notice an incredible difference when I do. We know it’s good for us: better mobility, less pain, hydrated tissues, systems communicating and not fighting, improved sleep, wayyy better posture, improved muscle recruitment, and more. But from the teacher perspective, why MFR? Studying anatomy, fascial lines, pain systems, cyclical patterns/nature, trauma-informed lenses, hands on adjustments, and high-level sequencing can only improve your teaching AND the experience for your students. This work gets to be applied to 1:1 and also group containers, and it can meet your students right where they are at any point in time. We are so excited to be running this training this month! June 11-14 & 25-28 Online & in person hybrid options available Link in bio or comment “Fascia” for details! by @theworkbyava
I had THE BEST time this weekend kicking off our mat Pilates teacher training on THE WORK. 🥹 We have an incredible group, and I always get so excited to share in this capacity, with time and space to ask WHY things move and work the way they do - and to learn how to embody, execute, and teach them fully and confidently. This training is spaced out, which gives us the chance to digest and absorb between live lectures and really sit with the material. We’ve only had one live session so far, and everything is recorded, so if you want to jump into training with us, you can! I’m still running the bundle with the Myofascial Release Teacher Training I’m co-leading with @amandalee.lac ! There are hybrid and online options for both! Myofascial starts Thursday, 6/11, and it’s two weekends (6/11-6/14 & 6/25-6/28). We will cover in-depth anatomy, techniques for self MFR, TCM, 5 Element Theory, fascial lines and slings, teaching tools, and sequencing. Join us for a summer of growth, education, and self-study! Comment “bundle” below or shoot me a message! Posting live class schedule in stories soon if you want to join me for an online or in person class this week ✨ by @theworkbyava

We hope you’ll spend some time with us learning, moving, mobilizing, and giggling, because we love to nerd out and laugh more than nearly anything else. 🤓💕 @lovetrafficker documenting our nonsense always by @theworkbyava
Why Pilates? Pilates was designed as a Return to Life - comprehensive system to integrate body, breath, mind, attention, and alignment. It asks us to take ownership of how we hold ourselves both physically and energetically. Why now? Pilates is having “a moment,” which is exciting for those of us who love and teach Pilates, but there’s also a level of responsibility we have to maintain and uphold the integrity of the practice. Why you? Because you deserve movement that supports your body, your structure, your mind space, and aligns you in more ways than one. In this system, we move from our center and work outward, and this creates grounding, a sense of stability, and space/expansion with support. Mat Pilates Flow Teacher Training will give you the tools to both understand this system in your body and also share it with others if you so choose! We start 5/30! All sessions recorded, space open for both online and in-person hybrid. Message me or link in bio for more details! 🤍 Photo: @goodeyety by @theworkbyava

SIX YEARS of doing THE WORK! It has felt simultaneously like a blink and a lifetime. It’s hard to believe we’ve officially been on this journey for six years, but I’m so grateful we are. If you’ve been a part of this platform, this community, or this special part of the virtual world in any way, I am so forever thankful. To have a space to share my thoughts, the things I’m inspired by, and to learn from just as much as I teach to - is a dream for me. @bkccreativeconsulting @discoballyogi @brittanykathrynchurchill you are the greatest of all time thank you for bringing this vision to life and help keep it alive, thriving, evolving, and growing! To all my folks on THE WORK still doing The Work - I see you and I love you. Six Year celebration class today: Strength & Softness at 12pm PST/3pm EST!
