What a weekend 😮‍💨

My first ever group meet up, and what a weekend it turned out to be. Met the most amazing bunch of people, got @chrishikes_ final wainwright (legend), used some interesting toilets, showered in a sink and met an even more interesting man wandering the campsite 👀

Honestly, my first group meet up couldn’t have been with a better bunch of people & it’s definitely given me kick I needed to get back in the mountains 🏔️

All in all 10/10 vibes all round 🫶🏼

Yes you heard right, this is in the UK. Wales to be exact 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

This is Portmeirion located in Gwynedd, North Wales & is a town designed and built by welsh architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis in the 1900’s 🏛️

It was built to show that towns could be created without ruining the natural beauty of its location. The many buildings are carefully built into its surroundings without demolishing what nature originally provided 🌎

Williams-Ellis drew inspiration from Mediterranean villages such as Portofino, Italy and created bright pastel buildings and incredibly thought out view points throughout ✨

It also served as the backdrop for the 1960’s television show ‘The Prisioner’ and now houses The Prisioner shop which has all kinds of cool memorabilia 📍

Today it provides amazing street food, ice cream, gift shops, coffee shops, and other cool places to explore. Another thing I thought was cool is that no one actually lives here - it’s purely for exploration although there is a hotel that guests can check in at in the village with its own private outdoor pool 🥵

Honestly one of the best spots we visited in Wales & already can’t wait to head back!

thank god for social media

social media gets a lot of bad press but used in the right way it’s amazing, I never imagined when I made this page I’d be making genuine real life friends and here we are, met up with @theyorkshirewalker for the second time and you’d think we’d known each other for years.

10 months since our last hike and it’s like we were never apart! Well almost cancelled this hike due to thunderstorm warning but it was insane weather!

Fleetwith Pike 🏔️

I say it everytime but I think I might have found a new favourite. The whole area was just stunning. Walking by Honister slate mine, the views were instant before we even started the climb 🥹

I don’t want this week in the Lakes to end. Luckily we booked wales ready to settle the Lake District blues ✨

10 months since our first meet up and it was as if we were together only last week. This is what I love about social media, the opportunity to meet people you wouldn’t have usually met. To form friendships with like minded people & to just have fun 😝
